Unfortunately, AudreyK, it’ll never happen… he just loves the attention, so he’ll never leave the pit. He’ll check in on this thread every couple of hours and giggle, rubbing his little hands together in glee at the ire he’s raised in the other posters, and feel that surge of importance that he’s denied in his otherwise dull, dreary and pointless life. And just FTR, I’m not a big fan of Calista either… I find the show annoying and it’s become even more of a caricature of itself over the last couple of seasons. I’d find Calista infinitely more attractive if she’d put on another couple of pounds, but I don’t think her attractiveness or lack thereof is worth any amount of vitriol.

It is equivalent IMO. From everything I’ve read about Camryn Manheim she is considered to be beautiful according to the press. Every time the Emmy’s come on television they always say how wonderful she looked and how stunning her dress was, blah blah blah… just like they do every other actress that walks down the red carpet. Calista Flockhart’s image in the tabloids, magazines, and t.v. shows always have something to do with her weight. You think she doesn’t get that on a daily basis? She does. Just like Camryn Manheim gets the fat comments. They’ve both probably been hearing about their weight all their lives and it’s something you never recover from no matter what size you are. It hurts just the same.

In that thread, yes, I did make a fat joke about Oprah Winfrey. I ain’t proud of it, because that’s not the kind of humor I typically espouse. I did it because I have a personal dislike for the woman, and took the opportunity for a cheap shot. That apology was already stated in the thread you referenced.

If that’s what you need to make you feel better about yourself, then I pity you. Personally, I don’t see why you feel the need to flame Calista Flockhart about her weight. You may not find her attractive, that’s fine. At her current weight, neither do I. But why do you have this anger associated with her physical appearance? Actually, from your posts, you seem to have a lot of latent anger (well, more of a teen angst, I guess) built up against… well, everyone in general, actually.

I have to jump in here an whole heartedly agree with Rachelle here. A few years ago I was REALLY thin. (Now I’m fatter - I’ve ballooned up to a 4! 
) People seemed to think that my thinness was cause for their comments. I was described as “ugly” “freakish” “disgusting to look at” “skeletal” etc. etc. on a DAILY basis.
That’s not nice. It doesn’t make a person feel good about themselves, and it’s just as hurtful as calling someone a fatty, or oinker, or whatever.
Also, for the record, I was NOT anorexic, or bulimic - I just wasn’t that crazy about eating, and I’m still not. However, I can say that telling a person that IS anorexic or bulimic that they look disgusting is not useful. It is not helpful, and it certainly doesn’t inspire that person to eat normally.
Also, for the record, I don’t think Calista is particularly attractive, but not because she is thin - probably because the character she plays (ie. Allie) is so annoyingly goofy.
