Yeah, everyone’s sick of this topic, well suck on it. I’m just here to rant.
I was installing some new software, and the manual suggested running “Disk Cleanup” first, which I had never run before, but hey there’s a first time for everything…I noticed I could set it to empty my Recycle Bin, which I had to do anyways so let’s kill two birds with one stone…hmm, what’s this, “Illegal Operation”? How typical…
But then I noticed…the Recycle Bin was GONE!!! I tried deleting some stuff, and it just made a plain “Recycled” folder (without the trash-bin icon) and the files in there were all screwy, with weird names and NO option to “empty” or “restore files”!!! Way to go, Microshit, if this was a 3rd-party program I’d understand but there’s NO CONCEIVABLE EXCUSE for Windoze’s own internal programs to conflict with each other!!!
(And I already figured out how to fix it, so all those people who want to say “I’d like to help but you’re an asshole so I won’t” just save your fucking breath…)
On a related note, Hotmail (owned by Microsnot, of course) totally changed their format, not that that’s so annoying but the attachments feature isn’t working right, the worst part about it is that I can attach 3 or 4 files but then the next one errors out which totally wipes out all attachments I uploaded previously…Good God, why didn’t Bill Gates’ parents practice birth control???
Apparently you learned something from the other 59 times, since you didn’t call anyone a Gates-worshipping asshole.
Congratulations, :wally
On the other hand, at this point blaming Bill Gates for the problem with Hotmail is like blaming Henry Ford for the Pinto. I’m pretty sure Bill didn’t have too much to do with the changes, or at least the programming, He’s not a programmer, he’s an executive.
Incorrect. The changes at Hotmail are solely due to Microsoft’s “Chief Software Architect” Bill Gates. The changes at Hotmail were solely for the purpose of integrating Hailstorm services such as Passport into their system. Hailstorm is BillG’s baby.
Well, I heard that if you install Windows on an SUV, then anything you play in your tape deck will synch with the Wizard of Oz, but only if you’re circumcised. We now return you to “One Trick Pony Theater”, brought to you by Whack-u-eez™ mechanical bullwhips. Does your arm get tired beating that dead horse? Try Whack-u-eez™. It saves time and money. That’s Whack-u-eez™, avaliable at retail establishments accross the country. Ask for it by name.
Yes, because Bill Gates implements all software changes personally.
Oh, and like Hotmail hasn’t been using Passport for the last year.
Oh, and you’re still a jackass piece of shit. And you still link to the same biased news source that has one paragraph worth of facts, and then an article of commentary.
Since some people are apparently incapable of evaluating independent (i.e. not in Microsoft’s pocket) reporting of Hotmail and Passport, I will offer a paper from AT&T Labs, dated July 17, 2001, which extensively discusses problems in the Hotmail/Passport system.
Unfortunately, this paper is rather technical and will be difficult to assess if you are a mere teenager with a weak grasp of the fundamentals of computer science. So I will provide a summary, tailored specifically for that audience:
And just which sources do I refer to that are “in Microsoft’s pocket”? Which sources are “in Microsoft’s pocket”? If you know, then why don’t you help my ignorance?
You’re a teenager? Wow! I thought you were coding back in the day…
To quote an excerpt from that article (bypassing all the excessively technical stuff that Asshol.E is having trouble comprehending):
All bolding an italics mine. Look, you stupid piece of horseshit. This article is talking about the limitations of ALL of today’s technology, not just Passport. I don’t expect you to really understand that because A) You have an illogical bias against Microsoft, B) You have an illogical bias against teenagers (especially those who have repeatedly proven you wrong in the past), C) You see and hear what you want to see and hear.
What?
Look, do us all a favor and place yourself in a paper bag, set it on someones doorstep, and light the bag on fire.
The least you could do is try to flame JET. He put all that time and effort into presenting us with another scintillating post for our viewing pleasure. The least we could do is give him the response he desires.
In any event, this seems like a rather petty thing to get wound up about. I’m not a Gates fan, but I don’t really care. I use Windows, and when it breaks I fix it. It’s really that simple. Nothing to get so worked up about, in my opinion.
In other words, both of you knock this shit off. There are so many better things to get angry about.
I do the same thing - Windows breaks, I fix it, something else breaks. I have better things to do than keep fixing Windows. That is what makes it a big thing. This morning, Windows crashed on booting, after being properly shut down Friday evening. No apparent reason, it just happened. I fully sympathize with JET’s rant against Microsoft.
Of course, if this is really rant number sixty on the same subject, then it is indeed time to drop it.
So we see that both JET and Chas.E are still ignorant pieces of discarded fuck utensils waiting to splurge the boards with the camel drool they call communication.
Hey, didja hear that Bill Gates is the mastermind behind all circumcisions in the U.S.?
Bill Gates has taken a personal interest and leadership role in Hailstorm, so must take some of the responsibility for recent changes implemented in it’s name. However, on the grounds I don’t use hotmail I’ve no idea whether it’s been changed for better or worse.
Secondly though - JET, fair enough, you hate windows[sup]*[/sup], so why the hell don’t you just download Linux. Even easier, go buy an “Idiots guide to RedHat”, you’ll even get the install CD. I mean, everyone’s got their own preference for Op Sys, but to keep using one that you so obviously dislike really does suggest a heavy degree of masochism.
[sup]*[/sup][sub]Or think you hate it. Until you’ve actually developed software for an operating system, you haven’t truly learned to hate it.[/sub]
Personally, I’ve begun to doubt his honesty in this issue. I mean, just how many Pit threads can one start about a single company/entity and still use the products when a (supposedly) better alternative is easily and readily available?
I think he just happened to find his special “Trolling Point” that he will continue to push and prod 'til the day he dies. “Hey, people pay attention to me when I say this! So I’ll say it over and over and over and over…”
Nah, if that’s all he wanted he’d have stuck to his “school shooters are my heroes” line of post. If all you’re looking to do is offend people, why try to do it by criticising a piece of software? Fairly indifferent topic for most, I’d have thought.
