Interesting. Now, if he had been black, then he would have been escorted out by police, but since he was a white trump supporter, he can trespass on business property without consequence. Not sure what state this is in, and whether political affiliation is a protected class, if it is, then the employee was a bit in the wrong in the first place. But being an asshole is never a protected class, and “Ring it up. Do my bidding. Sell it to me, punk’” is definitely being an asshole.
The employee was out of line, after being provoked by the Trump supporter, but the Trump supporter should have respected the rights of a privately owned business, and taken his patronage elsewhere. Instead, he committed trespass and harassment, as well as obstructing other customers. MAGA!
Not always the best business practice, and from him being fired, I assume the owner did not approve, but had he actually been the owner, or had the backing of the owner, then he would have had every right to refuse service.
I don’t know any place where political affiliation is a protected class.
The store clerk could have easily said calmly “I am not serving you, get out.” A call to the police would have affirmed that the Trumpette wouldn’t have been able to get anything but escorted from the store.
Unfortunately he lost his mind and it makes him look like a yapping idiot. Not the best example for our side to be sure.
Also if you go to the Facebook page of the Trumpette in question, you will see he loves posting videos of himself goading people while brandishing his MAGA gear. Pretty sure that he only shares the interactions that don’t make him look bad, of course. But I am pretty sure he has a lot of them that he just deletes.
Not always the best business practice? He saw the guy’s shirt and hat, and immediately started screaming hysterically. Was the other guy an asshole? Yes. Just like Trump’s an asshole. And anyone who works in customer service is GOING to have to deal with people like that. I’ve dealt with far worse, been called worse, and did it all without losing it – or at least not in front of customers. (Believe me, I WISH the only thing I’d had to deal with was some dude walking around in political gear I didn’t agree with)
But just because the guy’s wearing a shirt supporting someone you don’t like that justifies flipping out like a toddler who needs a nap? Seriously? He wasn’t freaking out because the guy was an asshole, he was freaking out because the guy was wearing a Trump shirt and hat. Dude absolutely deserved to be fired – he’s a fucking lunatic.
And his first statement to the MAGAt was exactly that. Then the MAGAt decided to start filming and provoking the cashier.
Sure, the guy looked in his 20’s maybe, so probably didn’t know the best way to get a trespasser out of his store. Shoulda called the cops. He threatened to, but probably thought he was bluffing, and that the cops wouldn’t do anything. So, probably did the MAGAt.
Back when I was a manager for fast food, I got more than a few assholes to call the police on themselves.

Right, this is exactly the reaction that he is trying to get out of people. Sure, it would be great if people don’t fall for it, but you troll enough line, you’re gonna get some fish.

Except that that is not what happened. He did not get upset with the guy until the guy refused to leave and was now a criminal trespassing upon private property.
As have I. But we are talking about a troll here who goes around trolling until he finds someone who reacts to his expressions of hatred. The individual that he managed to hook should have known better, but it is as if you don’t think that the MAGAt troll was deserving of any sort of reproach here.

If you ask someone politely to leave, and they pull out their phone to film you and start goading you, you don’t consider that to be an asshole? I do, but YMMV.
I’ve never been that way with a customer, but I’ve had sales people in my shop that won’t take no for an answer, and I have vented more than a bit of irritation at them until they finally up and left.

Sickos, both. The poor black guy just looked dumbfounded. I bet he told his family “You guys will never believe what just happened the vape shop!”. It would be cool if he had decided to film it from his perspective.
Because he’s not paid to fall for trolls, that’s why. He had absolutely no reason to kick the guy out – he didn’t even know the guy was a troll, he just didn’t like his shirt. Did he have the right to tell the guy, “I’m not serving you?” Yes. But just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
As I’ve said, I’ve waited on far, far worse than that guy. So I have no pity for him.
No. That’s when he started recording.
He started screaming about the MAGAt saying something racist. We will never know what happened before he started recording. But don’t be shocked if the MAGAt instigated it by saying something.
This doesn’t mean the clerk didn’t act like a spastic fool. But it’s not fair to say the clerk saw a dude in Trump gear and lost his mind.

Well, you’re not gonna change things by being mad at everybody. If you look at the vape store worker. He’s obviously against Trump but he did no one, including himself, any favors by going pyscho. He just looked foolish and ignorant. Dude, look at the man in the mirror. Change that.

I’ll add this though: Only maniacs (and trolls) wish for the destruction of their own society in order to make a political point.
I want Trump to die. Or be removed from office in a straight jacket. I want at least as much misery for McConnell and Kavenaugh and all the rest of the jackbooted pricks that dictate the face of our country, raid the treasury, and grind the defenseless into the dirt. And then I do my breathing exercises. Maybe hit the OpenVape a couple times on the back porch to get my nerves under control.
And then it occurs to me that what I really want is to live in a country where those kinds of assholes are allowed to live as freely as I, receive the scorn they deserve, and utterly fail to get votes. But I don’t live in that country. Those greedy, self-serving, narcissistic assholes that get voted into office? They’re just symptoms of a sick society. The best I can do is not be a greedy, self-serving, narcissistic asshole–and that’s a struggle.
But hold on, what type of jail are they gonna lock us up in? Are conjugal visits allowed? What kind of food will they serve? I think you might be overreacting, it might actually be kind of relaxing.
