Okay… so you do think that canaries actually have super powers? I was actually giving you the benefit of the doubt there, but since you seem insistent on this point…
I don’t assume that everyone is an idiot. Many of the posters in this thread seem to be rather smart, positive posters, who contribute to the thread, and the board overall. It is just you that’s a fucking moron who can’t do anything positive, so invest all your energies into trying to bring others down to your level.
It’s a boring week, slow and my receptionist is on vacation. So yeah, I indulged a bit. It’s the pit, which is supposed to be the bad side of the Dope anyway.
But I was not simply responding to random stupid assertions by a poster, CarnalK is actually attacking me and calling me out here by name. I had not even posted in this thread, the first mention of my moniker was from his post attempting to “mock” me for something he has taken out of context from another thread. He’s got some unhealthy obsession with me, and not responding to it, as I did the last time he attacked me on this, didn’t do any good, he just finds another opportunity to drop a turd.
But yeah, apologies if I’ve messed up the pit, but when directly attacked with no provocation as CarnalK has done, I do feel the need to defend myself from his obsessive hostility and trollishness.
Why would you possibly worry about this thread going bad? There’s about 2 million “Republicans suck” threads and this one was obviously started in a drunken and/or psychotic haze.
Say what you want, but there are real people who are getting major fucked by this administration’s policies, and I doubt it’s the posters on SDMB who are telling me to go see a psychiatrist. Some people have the luxury of waiting it out.
But some do not. Unlike most of the smug, self-righteous pricks who aren’t affected directly by Donald Trump and shopped on Amazon last week like they did the past decade or so, there are people who aren’t living the high life. There are people out there who are getting fucked by right wing policies and right wing American attitudes.
President Trump didn’t just appear out of the heavens. He was put into power by 63 million voters (and oh by the way millions more who just couldn’t be fucked to vote in the first place). If you’re a Vietnam refugee who lived in this country, called it home for decades, and now find yourself possibly being deported because 63 million people don’t view you quite as “American” as they are, do you think they’re in any mood to wait for some center left incrementalist who might have to work with an obstructionist congress?
I think a lot of you - even Trump’s fiercest critics - sit in a pretty comfortable position. Not everyone has that luxury. It is on their behalf - not yours and not mine - that I say “FUCK YOU, REPUBLICAN ANIMALS!!!”
And by the way, this is the Pit, after all, so stop lecturing, stop telling me to take meds or seek help. I can say what I want. If you don’t like it, if you think I’m trolling, maybe you could just not respond. But your smugness speaks volumes, because even though you probably think I’m a troll or otherwise ‘need help’, you responded.
A death trap it may not be, but I have a feeling that we have the Fire Swamp to traverse, and no way around it.
Yeah, I made a Princess Bride reference. What do you want? I’m a Cecilian, and as far as the United States of America’s soul is concerned, death is on the line.
I wasn’t aware that the Pit meant you could show your ass without people commenting on it.
(Hint: just like you can say what you want – and that ain’t always so – the rest of us can as well. Might want to take that into consideration, Einstein)
Needed to google that because all I could think of was Vic Morrow.
Yes, I’ve never seen P.B., much to the at times flabbergasted bemusement, over the years, of friends/strangers, despite my Mr. Guest fandom.
Just a gish gallop-y gourmet of reasons the gnarly republicans can’t stay around in 2020. I look forward to Donaldo’s hour-log Sunday night feature on Fox - “Ask a President” - after this jig, er I mean gig, is up. I was thinking maybe he could join the Fox and Friends crew, but he’d start interrupting too much or eventually in frustration call Steve Doocy a mamby-pamby and have to be deftly re-positioned elsewhere, say, with Jeanine Pirro, of the Rousing Voice, with whom the former президент would make a great rock’em sock team. Er, I mean a rock’em sock team of such staggeringly flatulent jingoism and horse lacrosse of Rabelaisian proportions.
He might start eyeing Tomi Lahren, though.
Or fuck it there could just eventually be a Trump Channel, allowing him to have his very own golf instruction show.
Or preferably a podcast from jail, as George Bluth requested.
Asahi, it ain’t really Trump or repubs driving you nuts, it’s this place.
As someone who identifies as a doctor, I recommend you avoid it permanently. Just focus on how most people you deal with in real life every day appear to act relatively normal. It’ll help.
I don’t like to have crap on my rug. However, as unpleasant as crap is when it gets on my rug, I wouldn’t be as upset with my cats for doing it as I would be if it was my neighbor.
And when he is trying to be held accountable for actively wishing for harm and even death to befall innocent people, he musters up all the debating skills of a cornered twelve year old and calls people “tards.”
This asshole is a blight on this board, an ignorant toad of a man-child. Fortunately most liberals don’t think like him - mainly because he doesn’t think, he seems incapable of it. I mentioned shit on my carpet earlier but even shit on my carpet can be tossed into the garden to fertilize something beautiful or edible. By that measure, he has far less value than shit and stinks twice as bad.
I might be a shit stain, but I think I have a point, which is that the only way this country is going to wake up and finally ‘get it’ is to endure some suffering. It’s not that I wanted it this way; it’s just that I recall barely 2 years after going through the worst recession in 2 1/2 generations, mainly as a result of right wing economic policies, this country voted for the foxes to guard the hen house again, when it really, really should have known better. And despite the fact that all Republican congresses were able to achieve is bitterly partisan, bitterly divisive political obstruction, it got even better: the country not only rewarded the party for blocking a supreme court nominee, but they also rewarded us with…Donald J Trump, President of the United States.
Sorry, but this is a society that doesn’t learn from its mistakes. Get mad at me all you want, but I am not your problem. Our collective complacency and ignorance are. One day that will change, but that change will only be possible when Americans are outraged. Outrage - and sometimes just pure, visceral rage - is a good thing. This country was founded on it, and has been shaped by it ever since. Outrage beget the rebellion against a despot. It was outrage that inspired our resolve to conquer the evil slave master. It was outrage that compelled us to end American apartheid known as Jim Crow, and it was protests - sometimes ugly outbursts - that spoke truth to power and demanded that we get out of Vietnam. You can sit there and pray for better days ahead if you like, but I think I’ll just continue to be fucking pissed.
asahi’s just outed themselves as a far-right whackjob trying to make DUH LIBRULZ look bad. Like how Huey Freeman is a White Nationalist trying to make DUH CULLUDZ look bad. The stupider they act, the more they’ve “owned” us, apparently.
I don’t think he’s a far-right whackjob… but even if he’s a far-left whackjob or a far-center whackjob, he’s still annoying as hell.
Especially when he continually screams “Fuck you!” to other posters who are trying to help him and give him reasons not to despair or get so irrational.
