I think I just came.
Hey! Stop making fun of my website like that!. Phlip, I dunno…you made a mistake. I dunno if anybody is really to blame here. Obviously, you clicked on the link in error, Zaphod probably shouldn’t have posted it, but after he did, he realized it made porn ads pop up and posted again to warn everone in the thread that it did create porn popups, and, when Euty saw it, he deleted the link and closed the thread. Maybe it did take him a while to do it, but the mods have lives, and families, and require sleep, etc, and he deleted it as soon as he could. If you clicked on the link after Zaphod posted it and before he posted the warning message, that’s really unfortunate, but if that’s the case, it’s unlikely a mod would have had the chance to delete it in that time frame. The only other option would be to moderate all posts, which would be time consuming, expensive, and stifle a lot of the creativity and freeflowing discussion that is one of the hallmarks of this board.
Hmmm, and I simulposted with EJsGirl. That must be why my keyboard suddenly got all sticky. 
Apparently there is no cure.

Damn, I was trying to simulpost with EJsgirl, but I fear I am too late. I am still awake because I cant get all of your stinging words out of my mind. I would just like to point out that I was not the first person to throw stones in here. I made a general statement saying that the SDMB almost got me fired. Then it turned into a fucking free for all against Phlip in here. Now I am to the point where I am running out of witty things to say about Uncle Beer. Uke did a fine job of deleting that link. Apparently, he does not fuck goats. He was just 7 hours late that is all.
And for you guys that are hoping that I get fired over this, well you may get your wish as this is all still unresolved. Good luck to you. Ill keep you updated.

It is great that notice was given quickly, but really, when presented with an interesting sounding link, who reads the whole thread before clicking? I usually click the link and let it load while I read the thread.

It is pretty lame to mock someone for quickly entering a thread. I couldn’t even name two Britney Spears songs but I would go into a thread mentioning her death as soon as I saw it. Plus, someone has to be first.

I think it is over-sensitive to say that “SDMB caused” equals “the moderators caused”. Because of a link on SDMB, Phlip when to a site inappropriate for his location. There may be more than one cause for him being in trouble (stupidity, ignorance, lack of people skills, whatever) but the SDMB is certainly one of the causes.

I click on links with relative abandon here because I know that porn is against the rules. I’m also in a work situation where I won’t get into much trouble if I accidentally end up there. Take care based on your position.
My official ruling:
Phlip, you are putz and escalated things. UncleBeer, you overreacted greatly, escalating things; the conversation was civil until you got a bug up your ass. Many of you are moderator-ass kissing putzes; nobody went off on Phlip until they knew they were safely behind the shiny white ass of a moderator.
I’m a putz for giving my opinion when nobody cares.
