I agree with TC on this. My company has implemented no personal e-mails, no recreational web surfing. In fact, if you couldn’t absolutely prove that you were on the web for work reasons, your access got pulled completely. (we now only have 5 web users, and three are top management. Yeah!)

Doesn’t sound like you hold no grudge against the board to me. And not once, in the time I just read through this thread, do I remember you taking any responsibility. If you aren’t allowed to surf at work, then it is ultimately on your own head for reading in the first place. If you are allowed to surf, within limitations (I know some IT people who are basically there to take care of things that go wrong, and that are allowed to do recreational surfing while things are slow), then it seems to me that your company should have a little more understanding of pop-ups and the like. Then it would be more a problem with company policy than with the SDMB losing you your job.
You say you want a quote where one time you made the comment that it was anyone elses fault. Well, I ask you, when in the whole three pages of the thread did you once say take any responsibility for your own actions concerning these circumstances? No one is begrudging your right to bitch.
