Fun casemod: Coffeemaking PC

Behold!

(Be sure to check the “walkthrough” for details on the genesis of the machine.)

This is one of the funkiest casemods I’ve seen-- I really like it, cheesy lighting and all.

My only problem is that the idea, insane though it is, hasn’t been taken nearly far enough. I want one with a cheesy ActiveHome card, so I can use batch scripting to have it start the coffee automatically in the morning. Hell-- It’d be fun to take an old 486 and make a Dedicated Coffee Server, sitting there on the network. Appropriate switches installed so that it could run an SQL server that would let anyone in the house know if there’s coffee ready, how long it’s been since it was brewed, etc.

That is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

Oh. My.

Wonder if the IT people would let me mod this case sitting here by my feet…

…no? Awwww! Party poopers. And here I was looking forward to having a coffee machine in my office. heads off, muttering

Truly, a thing of beauty!
