Fun with Facebook comments

It used to be that when you made a comment on Facebook, on your wall the message “FirstName commented on So-And-So’s status” would be displayed. In the last few days, they changed this to show the first part of the actual comment, such that it will now say “‘Blah blah blah…’ on So-And-So’s status”.

A female friend pointed this out, and in the ensuing comments said she should carefully write her comments such that the portion that shows up on her wall would have a totally different meaning taken out of context. The example she used was “The other day I came out and admitted I am homo…” appearing on her wall, while the entire comment would actually say “The other day I came out and admitted I am homogeneous in my culinary tastes.”

In response, I counted the characters and carefully crafted my reply: “Nice. Oh and thanks for the heads up about this.”

On my wall: “‘Nice. Oh and thanks for the head…’ on FemaleFriend’s status”.

Alas, she hasn’t noticed yet. :frowning:

Mine could’ve been interesting if it went just one letter longer…esp. compared to the 2nd comment.

You CAN delete items from your Recent Activity, you know. Then they won’t show up as an extra entry on your and all your friends’ Home pages.
