Future Olympic events - a sporty MMP

I’m finally to the ‘weird’ part of the story, the part I’ve been looking forward to. I’m only typing up right now, but I’ll have to start writing (or ‘writing’ since voice recording seems to work so well) pretty soon. I don’t have much of it figured out, but it’s going to be an adventure! (And actually worded that way in-story.)

But pretty soon, the ‘bad guy’* doesn’t get to be creepy to the ‘good guy’ anymore. Because the good guy gets age-regressed to about six When I came up with it, I wasn’t sure if that was going to be awesome or get really annoying really fast. I’m still not sure. But he’s so ickle and cute! And the ‘good guy’ gets some revenge on the ‘bad guy.’

  • scare quotes, because they’re kind of co-protagonists, and it’s not an action story so it’s not so clear-cut. But I don’t want to bother with names, because that’s oddly tricky without spoiling.

Howdy Y’all goofin’ off for a little bit before headin’ out to  the dentist. I actually forgot I have an appointment at two until I got to irk and saw the appointment reminder. Just a regular visit but I do not like goin’ to  the dentist. It’s totally irrational, I know, but still…

lieu glad you have some things to do for relaxation. I would love to see all that stuff.

MOOOOOOM it’s all so jake! Chic! Tres

Welcome sprucey! Sorry but swampy is already taken.

As I am completely uncreative, I am sharing a possible Olympic sport that I heard on a San Diego station this morning, on the Chainsaw and Shelly show.

-Olympic Fencing: People leave the stadium and hawk stolen official Olympic pens outside in the parking lot.

Cleaning condo was completed at midnight Tuesday/Wednesday. I was unable to finish it, just not enough time, and I apologized to the landlady. She proceeded to melt down over the fact that the oven wasn’t finished and only half the blinds were done and omg there’s a mark on the wall where the couch was, now the whole place needs to be repainted. /eyeroll If we’d had time to see the mark we could have just applied .34 cents worth of paint and tada!! But we didn’t see it until Tuesday because, hello, we were still MOVING!!

We had a 500 dollar deposit. We didn’t take pics when we moved in, we didn’t have time to take pics on the way out. We DID get smart and hire a carpet cleaner, and that made a WORLD of difference. But we did not have time or money to hire someone to clean the whole place on the way out. She can keep the 500 for emotional distress, I just want to hear her whinging anymore. Seriously, if she’d just hired someone yesterday it’d be done by now, but she’s still crying in texts to me how she can’t believe she can’t rent the place starting yesterday. I’m just ignoring her now. We were there 4 years, never was late even a day on rent. On her part, she was good about getting things fixed, eventually, though it often involved us finding someone who could do it for cheap for her, since she ‘doesn’t trust the big companies’. Well, she doesn’t live instate, but seriously, if this is your business you should have a clue about who to hire for things, you know? If she wants her place <she rents out several in different areas> to be pristine, she should have not rented it out.

Ok. Done with this rant. Hopefully done thinking about it at all. Got plenty more to think about, like where to put all our stuff now that we’ve moved. We do have room  This is my favorite part of moving.

Well, my FAVORITE part is right after you’ve moved all the furniture in, but none of the ‘stuff’, so that it looks all nice and clean and roomy. Then you move all the way in and it looks just so much more cluttered, no matter what you do. <sigh> Oh well, still much happier now

OH, also the dryer came in, so we can do laundry now; the desks came in, so we can set them up in our computer cave; and the most important part…the plumber finally came by yesterday. I do not know what he did, I think he was on the ROOF :0 but, instead of tearing out the wall just to find out the problem, he was done in an hour or two, walls intact, and now our shower, toilet and sinks work without flooding the kitchen and bathroom, yayyy!!!
Apparantly it was roots wrapped around the pipes, or nudging them, or something. I am still amazed that he could figure that out and fix it without tearing things apart.
Oh, and grateful. Very grateful.

Make it down here and we’ll take you (or whoever) over there. My cross street buddy Glen has a buch of fascinating artifacts from out there. He shows everything to owner Greg first, then he let the archaeology team pick them over for the museum display that’s been started, then he kept the rest. Neat stuff.

Greg, who owns Cowboys & Indians magazine, bought the ranch a few years back before anyone knew the historical significance of it. Glen located the sites and fortunately Greg’s the kind of guy willing to let the university and Texas Historical Society have free reign out there. Bernardo is little more than trenches right now but maybe some day they’ll have some kind of reconstruction. One historian told me it was the second most important historic site in the state behind the Alamo. That’s some claim.

If memory serves when Custer was stationed out here I believe he was ordered to burn the area’s antebellum plantations to the ground near the end of the Civil War. But the owners of the Liendo Plantation right up the road had been so good to he and his men that he left it unharmed. Now it’s one of the relatively few still in existance down here.

We’ve found mammoth teeth and arrowheads down at that Brazos River crossing too. Lots of history if you know where to look.

I like the way your twisted coworkers think!

Just back from dropping off my stuff at the sto’ - Deb tells meots of my stuff has sold and I’ll be getting a pretty big check next week, so yay! I’ll probably need it to pay the electric bill resulting from running the kiln, then trying to run the a/c while the kiln was hot. C’mon autumn!!

And I showed Deb the fingerless mittens that I’ve made - she likes 'em, so yay! I need to do some embellishments on a few of the plain pairs, and I need to make more in smaller sizes, since most of my patterns make pretty big mitts. Not a problem, tho - same pattern, smaller hook. Easy peasy!

And on that note, I’m going to assume the position in front of the TV and make more texting mitts.

FCM, I just saw your stuff, and the Save the Whales piggies made me laugh out loud, those are great!! :p:p

**Tao **- thanks! I liked my piggy, too, but my idiot cat broke him before I was able to do the final firing. I want to do another - maybe in my next batch. Just for reference, I made that in a class. The teacher wanted us to do a piece that made some sort of social, political, or environmental commentary. I don’t think she got the joke. She was a nice lady but way too intense.

If only you could see me now.

I’ve been soldering away for hours and a big blob just exploded and sprayed the front of me. Now I’m sitting with a bag of ice under my chin on the burns and blisters on my neck. Not horrible, but aggravating.

Ouch Sticky!

I’s home. Dentist went well. In and out within an hour which is always good. Philly Cheesesteaks for dindin. Well, my version that is. Flank steak sliced thin and sauteed with peppers and onions. Then cheese (mozzarella, swiss and/or pepperjack dependin’ on whim) and served on a nice soft hoagie roll. Also doin’ some oven fries. YUM!!!

lieu that sounds like it’d be a ton o’ fun.

I killded the MMP!

Dindin was nummy.

Welcome back Jim!

I really shouldn’t do voices when I voice record these, but that’s how my brain works. But ickle Neill’s voice just makes me smile (and then makes me feel like an idiot for getting so amused by my own voice).

Finished typing up everything. 40,701 words in 15 days. Typed over 6000 words today. Dang.

Nah, I just took a nap.

Oww, Sticky! Glad it’s not too bad

Is “killded” the past tense of “killed”?

Daughter came over for dinner and I hadn’t planned anything, so we went to Capt Leonard’s - very yum! Their fried shrimp dinner is yummerrific!!! Then we went to Rita’s for a Gelati. I’s stuffded, daughter’s hone home, and **FCD **is on his way home tonight - yay! He should be here by 10.

Back to my crocheting…

Mrs. Plant is watching an H2 program about Cleopatra.

They said that Cleo killed a “Family relative.”
Does Swampy write for this channel?

Seriously, Swamp Bear, (I use your formal name here to indicate that this is a serious question, not a frivolous discussion about how much of a catechism elephants can remember after drinking a bathtub of gin) youse guys are known to refer to yourselves as “English Catholics” and believe you retain the transsubstantiation thing. The Catholics say you do not. I thought Lutherans did not believe in transubstantiation, as most Protestants. How did y’all work that out?

One more day of work and then I am free of that hellhole for two whole weeks. Not that I’m excited or anything…

I am mulling over what I am going to make for dinner. I may call for delivery. Yeah, I’m feeling lazy tonight.

too tired to even pretend I read everything.

46 hours till vacation.

So is anyone around here looking forward to vacation?

Just checking.
