Galavant returns tonight (1/3) and I'm so excited!

Well, bummer. You just made my Monday that much worse. :frowning:

Makes sense, sadly. Doing it right would require a “Netflix blockbuster” sort of budget like they give to their flagship shows, but the audience doesn’t justify that kind of scratch. They produce lots of shows with a “throw some money at a concept and see if it sticks” budget, but you couldn’t do that with Galavant.

Awww. Now I feel like I should have binge-watched it a couple more times to boost its Netflix views.

you know - I really don’t like you.

I really, really want you gone.

I think it’s pretty funny for Netflix to turn this down for being “too obscure” given just how many original productions they’ve done. Many of these seem just as or even more obscure than Galavant.

I don’t know. They gave it a try for two years – how did the second season ratings compare with the first? If they didn’t improve fast enough, or at all, deciding to put their money elsewhere only makes sense.

The real story turned out to be King Richard’s story, and that was completed in an entirely satisfying way. Galavant’s story also ended. True, they left a set-up for a Gareth-Maddalena story, but they just weren’t interesting enough to carry another season. So, as much as I loved the show, I understand why it won’t get another season.

But any word on a possible stage production? I’d go to NYC to see it, especially if Tim Omundson reprised King Richard.

They can always go and get work
On some cheap-ass cable network.

Seriously, I’m kind of relieved. I’d hate to see it diluted with a half-assed third season that didn’t measure up to the first two. And that would seem to be likely, with all the resolutions they achieved at the end of Season Two.

oh c’mon - they should just d-dew it already.

True. Money needn’t be a problem. They can say adieu to
those they owe an IOU to.
