Galavant (TV miniseries)

I hope they do have another season because I want to encourage shorter seasons. I like the British approach of seasons (series in UK terminology) that last only six or so episodes. It makes the shows much less of a commitment.

Well, cable already is doing the shorter season thing (10-13 eps a season). And some network shows have that as well.

I do think that 6 episodes a season is a bit too short for most things. It worked for this because it wasn’t really about the plot so much.

This was way better than I had expected, even though I had hoped it would be as good as it turned out to be.

Does that make sense? It does in my head.

Anyway, I have only seen good reaction to it, so I hope that counts towards its renewal. Sometimes that does make a difference.

I dont get it.

All that build up for a limited series, then end on a cliff hanger? Fuck that shit.

So, another vote for a second season then?

I’m pretty sure the show makers had nothing to do with limited series thing.

Kind of surprisingly, it was renewed today!

Wow.

Yeeesssssssss !!!

Listen to their little wrap-up song from the end of the season and you can see even they weren’t sure if their show would gather ratings.

“Will all this singing kill our Nielsen ratings?”

One of the best show renewal news I’ve received, that’s for sure. I thought it was no contest it was a goner! Hooray that it isn’t!

I just binge-watched all eight episodes last night and I still don’t know what I watched. But I liked it

Dammit, the one person I didn’t look up on imdb! I should’ve known!

Yup. At one point, Richard was locked up, still talking about fighting the duel the next day and I was like “You’ve already lost! He can just kill you now, why on earth do you still think there’s going to be a duel?”

Loved all the cameo’s though, don’t think Anthony Stewart Head and Rutger Hauer have had a mention here, and I swear it looked like Christopher Lee pronounced the young Dickie as King in the flashback…
