Made in Chelsea for me
Turn-on sets a very high bar for bad TV. I watched every minute of it, and it’s hard to imagine anything more awful.
That Munsters re-boot a couple years back. Appalling.
Married By America made me doubt the future of our nation.
I forget which, but it was one of those celebrity gossip shows. Entertainment Tonight? ETalk? Regardless, I found it less compelling than the commercials.
“Firefly”
“Cop Rock”
The View
Hardly the worst show ever, but I still can’t believe that, for a show to have had Sofia Vergara, Gail O’Grady and Nicole Sullivan, that Hot Properties was as bad as it was. Barely a laugh in thirteen episodes.
Never watched it, but that sure sounds like stirring the pot.
Of what I’ve seen in my lifetime, it’s hard to beat Small Wonder.
The recent (within the past 5 years or so) TLC lineup probably wins for worst network ever, and I’d bet they take at least 5 or 6 of the top 10 worst shows of all time. Here’s a few gems to choose from.
19 Kids and Counting
Say Yes to the Dress
Sister Wives
Long Island Medium
Hoarding: Buried Alive
Kate Plus 8
My 600-lb Life
What Not to Wear
Here Comes Honey Boo Boo
Trading Spaces
I Found the Gown
Sex Sent Me to the ER
Toddlers & Tiaras
Sarah Palin’s Alaska
My Strange Addiction
My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding
There are literally dozens more just like this. Almost nothing redeemable on the entire network.
According to a previous thread on the subject (or maybe it was a Cracked article?), the show would most likely be:
ETA: Just imagine the other things I could have filled my long-term memory with.
TMZ is running strong for the title.
Flavor of Love might be one of them. Jerry Springer’s show is another.
Scripted shows?
I’ve seen nothing worse than Under the Dome, but I don’t watch any show that I expect to be bad.
Under the Dome was horrible, though. I stuck with it one whole season. I’m not sure why.
Some feel that “Helll Town” could have been the worst.
It starred Robert Blake as an ex-convict turned priest, helping out residents in his parish - “Hell Town”. (East LA)
Here’s the “Hell Town theme song” (sung by Sammy Davis Jr.)
That “You Tube” video is pretty bad because it starts with a local advertisement for the local news.
But be patient and soon you’ll see that “God is working overtime in Hell Town.”
I loved Cop Rock.
My choice is Jersey Shore.
Does anyone remember Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire? I didn’t think so.
Here’s the premise. Fifty women compete for the attention of a multi-millionaire, who chooses one and then they get married. All in one two hour episode.
Except the groom turned out to not really be a multi - or even a uni - millionaire (he was a standup comic turned motivational speaker), plus had a restraining order by his ex-girlfriend. The bride came back from the honeymoon saying she was morally offended by the whole thing, had never consummated the marriage and filed for an annulment. Then she posed nude for Playboy.
There were supposed to be followups and other multi-millionaires. Instead, Fox called the whole thing off.
I suppose you can’t call the XFL the worst series ever, because it was a football league, but an XFL game on NBC set the record for being the lowest-rated non-news prime time program ever broadcast on a major network.
Remember it? I watched it when it aired.
How old were you at the time? I wonder when someone will finally, at long last, put that on You Tube.
RealityChuck, you say that “I watched every minute of it.” Did you watch the entire half-hour, or were you watching one of the stations which quit showing it after the first commercial? That would mean you saw 11 minutes of it.
