Howdy y’all!

Metal Mouse Have fun with the soccer.
Today is surgery part deux on the ankle. Scheduled surgery time: 4:40 PM. No food after midnight last night. I am allowed coffee this morning. Yes, I am savoring it. My preciousssssss.
I did a partial change on the big aquarium last night. The fish seem mightily entertained. I guess I kicked up some interesting treats.
Happy Firday!
Just decided to exit my warm bed and get ready for work. I love Fridays.
It did not occur to me that today is Friday 13th until I was in the Pubic Sto’ and noticed the digital clock thingie said Friday, Nov. 13th. Then I was sure I’d get run over in the parkin’ lot. Anywho, I bought a loaf of Eyetalian bread and some provolone. I shall toast up some cheesey Eyetalian bread to go with the chikin noodle soup tonight. Should be good.
{{{sunny}}} here’s hopin’ the surgery goes well and you heal soonest.
Maybe I shall achieve nappage this afternoon.
I did not; I just like the logo and colors. I first heard of Kent State when their basketball team made the Elite Eight in '02 and played against my Indiana Hoosiers.
Woke up a couple hours ago; played some more video football, this time with the Flashes blanking Northwestern like 56-0 or something like that. Next game: Michigan.
We ate the last of the Oreos today.
Turns out we did not have chicken and dumplings after all last night; we were both pretty full from Chick-fil-A so we had sandwiches instead. Today we’ll be stopping by church for their monthly Community Dinner, this time made by one of the best chefs in the congregation. Can’t hardly wait!
The nap helped. I feel (relatively) normal again.
ruble, do you have a part time gig with the Village People or something?
metal mouse, so you break out the Under Armour ™ for games this time of year?
{{{rosie}}} I wish I could send you a couple of extra spoons.
I hope everything goes well with surgery, sunny.
I’ll likely duck out a little early today, but there’s a lot to do before I meet the BFF for the concert tonight.
I’m trying to figure out what to take for the brunch potluck tomorrow. Usually, I go with a low carb, high protein vegetarian dish so that the crunchies and I have at least one main dish to eat. But. I have a gnawin’ and cravin’ for chikin’ and fluffy dumplins as well as all of the ingredients on hand (to eliminate a swing through Kroger on the way home from the concert). Decisions, decisions.
My special day to stay inside and do nothing (so that the universe can’t hurt me) is the Ides of March. Seems like every time we violate that rule, something goes wrong.
red, I own no Underarmor equipment. Haven’t a clue why not.
I do have both short-sleeve and long-sleeve (Xmas present to myself) referee jerseys, and usually add either a T-shirt or sweatshirt underneath, depending on the temperature and wind. Shorts and long socks can be augmented with sweatpants, but I’m supposed to pull the socks over the pants, and that can be a pain.
Dress will depend on if it’s cloudy (a bright sun, even on a cool day, can heat you up nicely) and windy (first words learned by a native of North Ohio…Wind Chill Factor). So I’ll probably add a pair of tight-fitting gloves and winter cap if necessary.
(As you can probably tell, I’ve done this type of thing before).
Just hope the coaches and parents have the kids well-prepared. So adults…

Why isn’t this workday OVER yet!?!?!
Nappage has been achieved along with a little spiffin’ up of da cave. Go Me! OYKW is safely in the wilds of west Alabammy. I shall eat dindin when I feel like eatin’. I’ve done OK so far sans adult supervision, but the weekend is young yet.
Busy busy busy, and the day just flew by. I got a lot done, despite the server crashing several times. I got in *way *early and I was going to leave a little early, but I didn’t. Quick stop on the way home to get some yarn - I’m making an afghan for my sister’s granddaughter and I want to make it super colorful, so I needed some light blue, orange, and lavender to go with the colors I have at home. It’s gonna be BRIGHT!
**Butters **- there are 10 paid Fed holidays, and I get those in addition to my 2 lousy weeks. And reaching the 8hr/pp mark is definitely nice! But if you’re dealing with use or lose now, it’ll only get worse!!! Start planning vacations!!
**FCD **wants to leave at 5:30 in the morning, so no sleeping in for me. Altho I can get back in bed after he goes, so there’s that… As for supper tonight - dunno. I didn’t have lunch because I just didn’t want anything. I’m still not very hungry. Maybe I’ll just order pizza?
It’s so hard being me. Must be the Firday the 13th thing…
Went to church and had lasagna, garlic knots and tiramisu. Went to Walmart and picked up some strawberry preserves and got some soft pretzels from Auntie Anne’s. Now we’re stuck in a miles-long traffic jam on the way home.
Oh, and the latest issues of Entertainment Weekly and ESPN Magazine arrived today.
Flipper homemade lasagna, garlic knots, and tiramisu are worth gettin’ stuck in a traffic jam. I et some homemade chikin noodle soup and toasted cheesey Eyetalian bread. 'Twas good as well.
So, here I am on Firday evenin’ all alone. I talked to OYKW, 'tis 4:35 p.m. where he is and already dark. ICK! Tomorrow is chore day at his mom’s house. I plan a day of sloth myself.
The brunch potluck dish has been decided: sweet N.O.T. frittata. My niece is coming over to pick up my china Sunday (and bringing teenagers for the grunt work) so I’ll fix the chikin’and dumplins then.
metal mouse, when my desk was beside the emergency exit and ten foot tall windows, I treated myself to a suit of Under Armour, along with the wool socks Sis would send down from the frozen northland. The UA fits nicely underclothing and doesn’t roast you out when you get active.
I worked, I came home. I walked Gordie. Making Chipolte chicken with rice and corn with poblanos and cilantro.
Glad the nap helped,rosie.
Home finally. Long day after all. Just when I was getting ready to duck out early a huge rainstorm came so I waited that one out. Hubs got our filets but we are both too tired to cook/clean so tomorrow will be steak night. Tonight is scrounge and there is plenty here.
I am thinking it will be an early bedtime maybe with Ben. OK. Off to walk the boy for his last trip to check his pee mail for the day.
We decided to let Cracker Barrel feed us. I had a veggie plate and **FCD **had chicken livers with greens and a salad and some steak fries. We’s both stuffded. When we came home, we emptied the truck bed and he hooked up the GPS. He’s packing, and I included some peach and strawberry jam for the inlaws, because I’m nice, dammit!
I think I’ll log off in a few minutes and assume the crochet position. MWAH!!
We don’t have a Cracker Barrel either. I love CB.
Do you literally have skeletons in your closet?
Short hair.
metal mouse, a suggestion - you don’t need under armor, but get some good running clothes; a pair of tights & a mid-weight top. They are both thinner & wick moisture, so iffn you do work up a sweat, you won’t get cold when you stop as the perspiration is not up against your skin. They also dry faster than sweats & are easier to get socks over. If you get lucky on the timing, you can find something with some wind-blocking properties on sale.
Spidey
the guy with literally a closet full of cool/cold weather athletic gear…& that doesn’t include the stuff in the drawer(s)!
