[GAME] NFL Week 8

So the trumping rule is that each network gets the same number of games each week? How do they decide which games move from the network they’d naturally be on?

I’m not sure if they need the exact same amount of games - it’s tricky with one network getting the double header, and rules dictating which games are shown where - but that’s the reason you sometimes you get games you’d expect on one network on the other one.

Complete Bears meltdown, they’ve given up 38 first half points, most in team history!

What a fucking clown show. I’m guessing we’re going to see all these star players opt run the hell out of town at the first chance in Chicago. Cutler sucks. SUCKS.

And it’s even worse with endless political ads. I’m switching to the NHL as soon as the Jets/Avalanche starts

That Kelvin Benjamin catch just now was an incredible bailout of a stupid throw.

That’s at least the 3rd stupid throw by Newton today.

The Panthers’ coaching staff was the epitome of “try not to lose” today. I hate that chickenshit approach.

How so? I didn’t see the game, but I’m not sure that letting Cam Newton throw more would be the best plan to win.

It wasn’t that. Just overly conservative play calling, especially in the red zone. Draw, draw, draw. They barely targeted Olsen today.

Buffalo won - and by a wide margin - but they’re still questionable. The Jets basically collapsed and the Bills should have dominated but they didn’t.

The Buffalo defense is solid but the offense is not. Orton is not a game winning quarterback by himself. And the offense is trying to play a running game that isn’t going to work with Jackson and Spiller out.

The Bills have been lucky these last two weeks to be playing against weaker teams. But they’re going to have to step up when they come back from the bye week.

Funny. The Hawks-Panthers game was almost identical to the game at the beginning of last year. One point different (as I recall, Seattle got a FG, a TD and a S last year). Cam Newton is a great quarterback, except when he is not.

4 touchdowns to 0 interceptions, and a 92.5 passer rating. What’s a guy got to do to earn a little love? He’s got more passing yards in one fewer game than EJ Manuel did, and a better record.

Of course he’s not a game winning QB by himself. Game winning QB’s like that are rarely, if ever, sitting on the free agency pile willing to be a backup. If you expected him to be, I think you set your standards a bit higher than realistic.

But he is an average NFL QB who, for the most part, won’t lose games for you, which is a good part better than EJ Manuel. Which is what the Bills need him to be for now.

My apologies to the Pittsburgh Bumble Bee fans, but those have to be the ugliest sports uniforms I have ever seen. But dang, they are throwing out one heck of a game.

I think they play with urgency in those uniforms due to their resemblance to prison garb,

Nice win by my Saints this week. Ingram had a huge night, Graham came back from the dead, and the defense got turnovers for a change. Rodgers sure looked like he tweaked something in the leg, but he seemed to shake it off after a couple of series…

I thought they looked like rugby players.

Oakland is 0-7 and their next two games are Seattle and Denver. That doesn’t look good.

All AFC North teams have a winning record again.

All NFC South teams have a losing record.

The problem is if you don’t have a game-winning quarterback, you need a game-winning something else. And Buffalo doesn’t have that. If the Bills are a team full of average NFL personnel, they’re going to end up with another year stuck in the middle of the standings and another missed playoff season. Buffalo needs to find something that’s above average.

I think they’re cool looking, the best of the retro unis.
