[GAME] NFL Week 8

I agree. I wish my Bils looked stronger against the weak Jets, but I was glad for their first 5-3 record in many years.

Why is this a game? This is the usual NFL discussion thread, right?

I think the plan is to have a game winning defense and a strong running game. They’ve been building their team to be like the Seahawks, but then went brain dead and drafted EJ Manuel in the first round. They’re currently the 7th ranked defense in scoring, and are leading the league in turnovers generated. I think Sammy Watkins can be a star, and Jackson/Spiller, when healthy, put up #2 most rushing yards last year. Injuries hurt them this year at that position, but I do think, outside of the wasted pick on Manuel, they’re building their team to be competitive for a long time.

I hate NFL talking heads. Now that Colt McCoy is starting tonight all the heads on all the sportstalk stations/tv are explaining why Colt McCoy ain’t that bad/knows the game/ can throw the ball/pocket presence etc… I swear the NFL is worse than any other sport when it comes to player-band-wagoning. Meaning, whoever is doing well get’s alot of hype talk about why it’s not a surprise they are doing well, then when some nobody is put in the game at any position they all start chirping about how they knew that kid had spark and he’s a hidden gem. This happens about 10 times every broadcast when some nobody finally lands a sack, makes a block or catches a pass etc…

Annoying.

Bears defensive end Lamarr Houston’s first sack of the year is also his last - out for the season with an ACL injury caused by his celebration.

I don’t know if that was the dumbest celebration-related mishap of the week, or Sammy Watkins pointing to the crowd before getting tackled short of the end zone.

If we can’t get that soprano from the Detroit-Atlanta game for the anthem, I could support a trumpet solo instead.

I’m voting for later in the game when Watkins caught another pass and ran into the endzone - and started showboating again.

Granted, he got away with it that time. Nobody tackled him. But after screwing up the first run, he should have learned his lesson. But apparently he didn’t.

My god, Colt McCoy vs Brandon Weeden

LOL, I saw that and thought of you. Perhaps a “Scanners” type of head explosion on your part is in the offing?

Also: how epic would a tie be between these two former Browns starting QB’s?

Awww dammit, Romo came back, and then got squashed. McCoy’s interview with Young, Dilfer, Lewis and whomever the guy who never played before was interesting. So the Foreskins put a stop to the Cowgirls win run and escape the stadium with a win. Good for them.

Bwaaaahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahaaaaah!

Sorry. As a Redskins fan, I take my moments when I can get them. :stuck_out_tongue:

My prediction last week, that Washington finishes 11-5 and heads to the Super Bowl behind Colt McCoy, remains as valid now as it was then.

Dallas should have left Weeden in. He’s Tony Romo, for god’s sake, not Batman.

Do you get a better replay option than the Jets “hide the other returner” kick return fiasco? Between this and the ButtFumble the Jets make for some good Youtube times.

maybe the cowboys shoulda got troy acheman to save the day
