No, I was angry because when it was pointed out that unboxed Star Wars spoilers don’t belong in Game of Thrones threads, the response I got was essentially “Suck it up, Nancy.” Which seems to be your response as well. Both they and you are clearly in the wrong.
You’re probably right, but even if alive a White Walker would no longer be human. (In any case, Craster doesn’t know what happens to his sons and probably assumes they die.) It would probably be regarded as equivalent to kinslaying and probably worse.
I have no idea how you have survived this long without knowing about Han Solo dying. The general plot outline of TFA has become part of mainstream pop culture and is referenced in many many places. I do think it’s pretty unreasonable for you to expect people to not spoil major pop cultural releases more than three months after release. Generally anyone that cares has seen it by then and the people that don’t care about the franchise generally don’t care if they get spoiled.
[Moderator Note: I have spoilered coremelt’s reply because he gratuitously posted the same spoiler as previously.

This is a totally bogus excuse for spoiling something.
I fail to see how the possibility of seeing speculation about GoT (which doesn’t constitute a spoiler, since no one actually knows) in a GoT thread has anything to do with spoilers about an entirely unrelated movie.
I just finished watching season 5 of GoT three weeks ago. I successfully avoided learning about all major GoT spoilers over the past five years because I carefully avoided reading any articles or threads about the show. Claiming that spoilers are inevitable is untrue.
Moderator Note
coremelt, after all the discussion about not posting spoilers, and having mod have to go in an put spoiler boxes in previous posts, you come in and post the exact same spoiler again. It should be clear to you that this is upsetting to many people. I’m making this a note because it’s not my forum, but I think you should receive a warning for being a jerk. I’ll leave it to the forum moderators to decide whether to upgrade this to a warning.

Quite easily. Until this thread, of course. I simply avoid articles and discussions about the movie I don’t want spoiled. Several people in this very thread were in the same position as me, having easily avoided that particular spoiler until this thread. You not being able to understand it is irrelevant.
And you are wrong. It is against board policy to drop open spoilers in unrelated threads.
Ok I didn’t know this was against board policy. Sorry and won’t do it again.
What is it about Game of Thrones and spoilers? It seems we finally got the ‘only the TV show exists’ thing right and now there’s some totally out of left field spoiler crap from a totally different media roiling around.
Hey, you know what? The winner gets stoned to death!
Bah!

Stray thought: depending on how big the, er, native population of white walkers was, adding a bunch of Craster’s sons might have severely skewed the male/female ration.
And supposedly there was that old Commander of the Night watch who married a white walker.
And there’s speculation that the finale of the series will involve a new truce between the humans and the white walkers.
And truces in Westerosi society seem to be reinforced by marriages.
So… I prediction the finale will be The White Wedding! Danny with the King of the white walkers, Fire and Ice, right?
Do I win for weirdest prediction yet?
Perhaps that will happen (Dany marrying the king of the White Walkers). My completely random speculation; the dragon fire burns the White Walkers, leaving the humans underneath intact and still alive. Meanwhile the wights return to being corpses.
Is the mechanism by which dead humans turn into wights established yet? Is it merely the presence of white walkers nearby that causes it? Theoretically, there must be a geographic demarcation line above which they do, and below which they don’t.
Also, since the series appears to be moving in this direction, was it ever revealed whether Lyanna was abducted by Rhaegar, or whether she voluntarily ran off with him? I know that there are parallels between Arya and Lyanna, but could there also be any between Sansa and Lyanna (in terms of wanting to be queen)? After all, Sansa would have been happy to run off with Joffrey in Season 1… Until she found out what he was really about.
That’s a good question. We haven’t heard her recite her little list in quite awhile.
Heh. My son and I wondered if he’d immediately bleed out again once he sat up.
Didn’t Stannis offer to release Jon from his vows and/or pardon him, using his royal prerogative, so that Jon could rally the North and help him take back Winterfell?
Last we saw, Varys had him in a sealed trunk and had introduced him to Tyrion. Payback, it was implied, was going to be a bitch.

Sung by the wight Viserys Targaryen.
At Hardhome, the White Walker king just gestured and those who had been killed a few minutes before rose up. On the other hand, dead Rangers at Castle Black have risen without Walkers (apparently) having been within dozens of miles. I think the closest we have seen a Walker to Castle Black has been near Craster’s Keep (after Sam and Gilly escape), which according to the Wiki is about 60 miles north. (This also raises the question of how the wildling horde missed running in to Walkers on their way from their encampment to the Wall, since they pass the Fist of the First Men where the wight army wiped out most of Mormonts command. Where did the wight army go?)
Stannis offered to legitimize Jon, which is within the king’s powers. Jon refused because of his oath. I don’t think a King can release a member of the Watch from his oath, since they are not under the jurisdiction of the King. I would guess only the Watch can do that (which apparently has been done before in the case of an only surviving heir).
I just thought of the very first scene of Season 1 with the Night’s Watch scouts being assaulted by the White Walker (with the girl’s face and ritualistic set up) and the 1 deserter who was executed by Ned. Wasn’t that closer than Craster’s?
It’s not clear where that was, other than within the Haunted Forest. It might have been closer than Craster’s Keep, or not. But if it were closer than Craster’s, why didn’t Mormont’s party encounter any White Walkers on their way there?
Then there are the wights that attack Bran’s party as they approach the tree of the Three-eyed Raven. They have been dead for a very long time and have been frozen in the ice. So just being dead north of the wall doesn’t revive you as a wight. There weren’t any White Walkers in evidence when the wights suddenly revived.
Interesting theory posited on reddit:
As we now know, Hodor used to be a stable boy named Willis (sp?), who could talk just fine. The theory is that Willis was a warg, and warged into a horse, and then the horse got killed, or maybe the horse’s brain ended up back in Willis’s body, or something. Him having a brain mixed up with a horse in some fashion would explain why he was happy to carry Bran around, didn’t really talk, and panicked during a storm.
Wiki spells it Wylis.
Oh I like that…
One thing (I think mentioned it before) that bugs me about Sam going to become a Maester in order to help Jon against the Others…its takes TIME to become a Maester and Sam knows they don’t have much time. Jon doesn’t need a wise Maester a decade from now… he needs one yesterday.I don’t know why they didn’t explain that Sam was going to go to the Citadel in order to recruit a new Maester who maybe already knows about magic, white walkers, dragonglass, etc.
Youtuber Preston Jacobs talks a bit about this in the Q&A for the latest episode, the logic in the show doesn’t flow. Things happen because…TV! and there’s no reason to look for nuance in the actions because there is none. The Zombie Mountain killing that dude pissing is cool… but WHY is that even in there?
