Oh, one thing I’d like to propose. As a courtesy, could you spoiler box anything that comes from the “next week on Game of Thrones” previews? I always avoid those things because they’re made by marketers, not the showrunners, so they’re not careful about what they reveal, they’re best avoided. It would make it easier for me and people like me (and I know there are at least a few) to avoid those things.
Not a big deal, not a rule written in stone, just something that would be nice if we could do it.
Agreed on that. Or other things from marketing/interviews.
The previously on section also usually implies story lines that’ll appear in the upcoming episode. I usually avoid that, but the Benjen fakout before Jon was killed was pretty awesome.
So this should be a Dany heavy episode. She’s not my favorite character, but now that she’s in Westeros hopefully she has more interesting interactions with the rest of the cast. Jon approaching Dany about mining dragon glass seems obvious.
Personally I look forward to a Daenerys heavy episode. In Essos she may have been the semi-divine Mother of Dragons and Breaker of Chains, but Westeros doesn’t have chattel slavery and she’s just the Mad King’s daughter who has fire-breathing dragons as far as most of the populace is concerned. Not that most of the populace actually gives damn who sits on the Iron Throne as they’re not starving to death and some semblance of pubic order is maintained.
Wonder what the damages are to Dany’s fleet. Hard to tell other than Yara and Ellaria being taken. Half gone? Complete loss?
Will Littlefinger be able to turn Sansa against Jon while he’s away? He and Sansa should have had a longer talk I think.
Nymeria leaving Arya because Arya abandoned what it means to be a Stark?
Nathalie Emmanuel is perfect.
I could not watch the de-fleshing and I cried real tears when Arya found out Jon was King A Da Norff. Seriously got up and left the room and only came back when Jorah stopped screaming.
I doubt Euron would leave any of the fleet intact, he had vastly superior numbers and Theon looked to be floating on his own.
I’ve been telling Starks since season one, “DONT MAKE ENEMIES” and they never fucking listen to me. GD, Jon Snow is stupid.
That and the extended sex scene was way too much. I’m literally saying “COME ON!!”
I thought, “Are we really going to sit here and watch Grey Worm go down on her??”
Nymeria left because she has her own pack to take care of now. She’s moved on. Such a great, bittersweet moment.
Yeah, no. Watched the whole sex scene. Liked it. Asked my husband did he think they would scissor like lesbians. No offence to lesbians or eunuchs intended…
What was it Arya said after Nymeria left? I rewinded a couple times but still couldn’t really make it out.
I thought it was “it’s not her” implying that she left because of something to do with Arya. I’ll check with subtitles.
eta “that’s not you”
I had closed captions on and she definitely said, “It’s not her” but I wasn’t clear on the meaning.
From what was said, it sounded as if they were just sending Yara’s ships to Dorne to transport the Dornish army. Based on the scene from the end of last season, the majority of the ships in the armada had red-and-black Targaryan sails instead of the Kraken. And she was planning to send the Unsullied to Casterly Rock presumably on her own ships, so much of the fleet is still probably intact.
She definitely said “it’s not her” but I didn’t put the whole thing together until reading your post. The encounter with was clearly meant to draw a parallel between Arya and her dire wolf. Both were released into the wild and underwent fundamental changes. Nymeria evidently recognized Arya enough to call off the attack, but she’s too wild to become Arya’s companion again.
I wonder if Arya’s visit to Winterfell will go similarly. I’m hoping that it turns out to be the thing that gets her to call off her counterproductive revenge mission and start working with Jon and Sansa. But it’s just as likely that she’ll pop up to say hi and then return to her assassinations.
Maybe Theon should have a long talk with Grey Worm so he can find out just because you don’t have a dick, doesn’t mean you can’t be a man.
I thought it was either it’s not her or that’s not you, thanks. The way she said it and smiled didn’t make a lot of sense, it was obviously her or they would have torn her apart.
Err, Yara wasn’t taken; that was her hanging from the ship’s bow. I’m sure that’s much more pleasant than whatever Cersei’s going to do with her engagement present. And Cersei nicely summarized Daenerys’s PR problem; crucifying of hundreds of nobles isn’t going to win her many supporters. Westeros isn’t a city-stat; it’s an entire continent, mostly agrarian, with few cities. And while the Unsullied might squick the locals out; they’re not extremely disciplined, won’t pillage beyond what they need for supplies, won’t rape, and will eventually die off leaving no decedents. What the hell is she going to do with the Dothraki? :dubious: Turn them into landed gentry? Let them continue roaming across Westeros as nomads? Send them back to Essos?
I’m pretty sure that was one of the Sand Snakes hanging from the bow by her own whip. I think Yara’s still alive.
