I hear the eleventh episode will be all about Dany’s uneventful and completely safe shopping binge at the Vaes Dothrak Mall.
Where she will do much shopping at Whores Whores Whores, I’m guessing.

Well, it is a whorse tribe.
I was rewatching the episode. The wine vendor calls Dany “khaleesi” right off the bat during his sales pitch. Then when she speaks back without an accent, he asks her if she’s from Westeros and her aid gives him her full proper title including “khaleesi of the ridermen (?)”.
Khaleesi means queen, right? Why would he be calling her queen right off the bat if he didn’t know who she was? Is it some sort of colloquialism, where you’d call all unknown women khaleesi, like addressing them as “my lady” when you didn’t know whether or not she was noble?
The Khaleesi is the wife of the khal, of which there are many. I’m guessing that something about her clothes, ornaments, and/or servants indicated to the wineseller that she was khaleesi.
Aha, I thought khal meant king - as in, head dude of the whole bunch. Is it more like lord? Is Drogo leader of the entire dothraki people, or just his own personal army?
Drogo’s group is one of many tribes of Dorthaki, so I imagine “queens” of the Dorthaki are actually pretty common, and she’s walking around the market flanked by a body guard.
Plus, if your not sure, its probably safer to address her by a title thats above her actual station then below.
The latter. Khal Drogo is the leader of his tribe (admittedly one of the largest tribes) , and there are lots of Khals. Not sure exactly how many, guessing on the order of 20 or 30? There doesn’t seem to be a single leader over the Khals.
He is a very powerful, undefeated Khal has evidenced by his ponytail.
My take is that an ordinary wine seller could tell by something about her dress that she was a khaleesi but has no reason to know about her personal background.
Also, he is really is a wine seller but done some freelance assassination for hire and always keeps a poisoned cask handy. He got the message that Robert wanted her killed but doubtless he knew that there were other such agents around who also got the word. He just bided his time on the off chance that he would get the opportunity to take the contract and got lucky.
And On another point – There’s no such thing as excessive nudity.
Think Mongols before (and, to a lesser extent, after) Genghis Khan.
You didn’t really want to see King Robert rampant, did you?
So long as there is female nudity, I don’t care whether there’s male nudity. I see
My ugly body naked all the time so that doesn’t faze me.
reaches for the brain bleach
I second the “no such thing as excessive nudity” and would like to add that I thought having the scene in a bordello added to the depth and richness of the show … it emphasized that these characters didnt have the same sexual mores that we do, that they come from a different culture, albeit one a lot like medieval Europe in a lot of ways.
a-HA!! Knew I’d seen him before, but couldn’t place it.
And I agree; he has aged WELL!
Iain Glenn played Father Octavian in last season’s Doctor Who 2-parter, in which The Weeping Angels were the enemy. At the end, the Doctor stated he wished he’d known him better.
He’ll appear in the next season of Downton Abbey–set during The Great War…
Well I was really surprised that Drogo committed his army to sailing across the sea. I was sure that come Season 2, Winter arrives, becomes the worst Winter ever, and the sea freezes over.
Thanks for posting another spoiler.
That’s one person speculating, not spoiling anything.
