George W. Bush gets jiggy wit it-- Dallas police memorial edition

During a rousing rendition of “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” George W. was having a real fun time, smiling, dancing, swingin’ his arms, mugging with the first lady.

I can almost read Michelle’s thoughts during the ordeal: “Dafuq?” When his arm swinging moves beyond the subtle and heads into all-out dance-mode, she seems to give a glance of genuine concern-- is he okay? Drunk? Has he lost his balance? Is he having a stroke? Is he attempting to start the wave, and what’s the protocol if he does?

She and the president do smile at one point, because it really does seem George is trying to make them laugh. I mean, damn, Bush seems just pleased as punch to be there! Such a happy guy!

Crisis Actor.

I think he’s high on coke.

I don’t know why he was there in the first place.

i saw this, and was waiting for a thread.

it was the first time in years that i was able to look at mr bush and laugh. i’ve never seen anyone get so excited by “the battle hymn of the republic”. even more amusing to me is that this was in texas. he was really swinging his arms!

Between the blue suit and the jig, I’m starting to suspect Laura doesn’t let him out of the house much anymore.

He also, interestingly, wore a navy blue suit instead of a black one. He is 70 now… I wonder if he’s starting to lose it a bit.

Dancing at a memorial for slain policemen? What an asshole.

Getting political at a funeral for five dead police officers, even blaming the police department and calling them racist? What an asshole.

Eh, if history is any guide, he was always known as a fun loving guy. Being President required him to stiffen it up, so he played the part.

What a load of nonsense. Watch the actual speech and see that he heaped praise on the Dallas police.

Can’t wait until the silly season is over.

Motherfucker is marching in place! He’s like a three-year-old!

Even the funniest people know how to behave appropriately at a somber event. The most generous interpretation was that it was a misguided attempt at cheering people up. Personally, I think he was drunk.

Well, the Battle Hymn is the funkiest of all hymns. Why, I could barely control myself either.

If it weren’t for the occasion, it would be sort of cool. As it is, with him looking over at the lady President like, “Why aren’t you getting jiggy with it?”, it really does seem like he has no idea what he’s there for.

People accuse Reagan of senility during his presidency. With this Bush, at least, I think it’s reasonable to conclude that he fried out his brain at some point, and it wasn’t post-presidency.

Even a three-year old can be taught to behave properly in public.

Dubya is an idiot, and I intend to get jiggy when I hear he is dead.

He should’ve just went all in and pulled out a couple six-shooters, firing them into the sky, like a proper highfalutin Texan.

I don’t know anything about it from a medical standpoint, but watching my video my first thought was dementia or some other cognitive issue.

Ok yes maybe drunk and/or high but someone who should know better (and has proven himself to at least know how to stand still and look serious in the past) acting that inappropriately? It seems like someone who honestly doesn’t know what’s going on around him.

Trouble comprehending things? I know it was a lot of sentences, but you really should try reading for context instead of cherry-picking what suits your agenda.

His wife & Mrs. Obama were holding his hands so tightly and he was acting out so badly I thought he looked like a 3 year old in church.

Maybe he swings his arms a lot to try to deflect shoes…?

PS- Nobody but Nobody is going to mention his “Joker” purple suit? I was waiting for him to spray acid in womens faces…
