Dopers in Germany, who wants to meet up in Cologne sometime this spring?

I was hoping you’d be there. After all, your post was the impetus for the meeting. So we’ll just call this springtime one a practice session. Don’t worry, we’ll hold another in the fall. We might even call it Daphnefest.

Sorry, I don’t even like Die Höhner or carnival music very much, but this fits too well.
Of course I’m in for a dopefest in Cologne (I originally proposed the place in the Karlsruhe thread, so I’m kind of obliged to participate :)).
Cologne is a great city with easy-going, open-minded folk and a legendary pub circuit in the Südstadt. Besides the already mentioned Romano-Germanic museum, there are two fantastic art museums right around the corner of the cathedral: Museum Ludwig and Wallraff-Richards-Msueum. I’m sure we can have a lot of fun there.
Köln is just a little too far for me. Munich ain’t exactly the middle of Germany, huh?

I live in Cologne (in the Südstadt even, EinsteinsHund! ;)) and I’ll gladly help organize the meeting, try to find a nice pub etc… .

Hey Budget, am I right in thinking you are an expat? If so, please pop over to my thread in IMHO! I’m asking for advice about Karlsruhe, but more general perspectives on life in Germany, especially expat life, recommendations for places to visit and things to see and do, Are welcome! Even if you are not an expat, feel free to comment.
Would a Spanish expat who lives in the Netherlands but can get to Köln relatively quickly be welcome?

German native living in Stuttgart here. I was never much more than a lurker on the Dope, but I’d be interested too! Cologne in the spring might be worth a visit.

I’m probably flying thru Frankfurt & could come in a day earlier.
My German is absolutely rusty, but if the dates match my work calendar I’ll come on down.
I know it’s been sometime, but The Butterfly’s Ghost and I really want to get this thing going. So everyone who expressed interest to join the Cologne Dopefest in this thread, expect a PM from me over the weekend with further details. We roughly plan an April date, that much I can tell beforehand.

Hi Maastricht, indeed there’s news. We have settled to meet on the afternoon of April 11 at the Chlodwigplatz in Cologne and spend a nice evening in the Südstadt. If you want to join us, please PM me, of course that applies for everyone else who’s still interested. It would be great to have some more of you with us.
Sorry I cannot make it to Cologne on 11 April - I have a long scheduled work related event on that day - I am the organizer/guide so I cannot drop out of it.
