Evening all. I could have given swampy a run for ‘laziest person today", haven’t done much except internettin’ and a 2-hour nap, but did fix dinner and put the dishes in the dishwasher, so there is that. Will get out tomorrow for a few chores and the laundry beckons for later.
nellie, sometimes, like swampy, we just can’t help ourselves volunteering. Got an e-mail today that the soccer league needs coordinators for a bunch of age groups, which I have done before, so I’ll give other folks a chance to jump at the opportunity but probably will end up doing it.
red, hope they do get it straightened out; $500/month seems a wee bit extreme… and good for Nelson making new friends.
FCM, hope the recliners make it; you are more patient than I would have been given the 4-month gap.
quiety, your boss is a wise woman; heed her words.
Dinner is quietly assimilating inside me and nothing much on the schedule, so all y’all take care.
MetalMouse - the recliners had to be custom made with our fabric choice, so we knew they’d take a while. That while grew thanks to the plague. But the wait is nearly over, so I can be Zen about it.
I get to wrangle Roxy tomorrow afternoon while my daughter goes with SIL to his Dr appt. I won’t have her for more than a couple of hours. And in the morning, I need to help FCD rearrange his office. That should make for an exciting day…
But for now, I’ll play a few games till I nod off.
nellie, do you have a scanner? There’s no law saying that the same picture can’t be in more than one album. There are some pictures that tell another aspect of a story when in a different grouping. No need to start over with the old albums.
The $500 a month was AFTER the insurance kicked in. I have good insurance, but the full freight for this drug (one I’ve been on for several years) is closer to $1200 a month.
After I finally did crash last night (sometime around 3 AM), I had really weird dreams, and for a change, I remembered some elements. doggio, metal mouse and nellie all made an appearance. I have a feeling that I’ll be asleep before the first video is complete tonight.
Very windy here. On the way home, WeatherBug was reporting 28mph (45kph), and it was starting to rain. The NWS alert is calling for gusts up to 60mph (97kph) up until about noon tomorrow, and supposedly about 3" (7.6cm) of rain between now and Friday. Whether I go to irk tomorrow may depend on weather and/or DH having any inclination at all to drive me. Commuting by bus in this strikes me as unhealthy and a rotten way to start a day. Lyft/Uber would not be an option, sayeth the checking account, payday not being until Thursday.
This morning, with temperature at 28F (-2C), was quite bad enough to venture out into, even with an extra layer of tights under the jeans, and a kindly bus driver allowing passengers who were changing buses to wait on his at the end of his run until either our next buses arrived or he had to leave for his next run.
Currently cooking some chicken breast, not 100% on what I’m going to do with it. All chargeable devices are on chargers, and the dishwasher is churning away, since TPTB say there’s a non-zero chance of storm-related power outages. Laundry is already current.
Sup went home early due to illness. She assured our team it’s not COVID. I wasn’t that worried, really.
Ohhhh, that explains it. I wasn’t riding a flamingo on a tightrope while juggling snapping turtles, was I? That gets old fast, let me tell you, especially when the flamingo has hiccups.
Red, I’d gladly turn the whole photo album project over to you, as I clearly lack the intelligence to do the organization. All I know is I several hundred photos in album and about 150 more to find homes for. I’m a Bear of Very Little Brain.
Well, looks like the zoo is re-opening on Thursday. Just like them to give everybody two days notice after zero communication during the shutdown.
Since our schedule week begins on Saturday, and my usual days off are Thursday and Friday, if I volunteer to work this Thursday and Friday I’ll be on seven days in a row. No thanks. So I believe I will respond to my boss’s email tomorrow and say I will be available as of Saturday. Supposed to rain all week anyway.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sort. I signed up for the state’s COVID vaccine update thing. I’m Group 3, so I should be getting the vaccine in time for COVID-22.
The hissing and running away from me hurt a bit. You’d think I had brought deviled aigs made with Miracle Whip and a pack of [Joan Crawford]WIRE HANGERS[/Joan Crawford] or something.
Still in total lockdown over here, but the snow has all gone. It looks pretty and I do enjoy pictures of happy kids making snowmen and angels, but my front drive is a bit steep and I worry that I or someone else will slip over.
FCM D you think the Lazy Boy supplier only employs lazy bois?
I am annoyed with myself today. I had an email, apparently from Royal Mail about an undelivered parcel - click here to rearrange delivery. I was a bit puzzled because we are both here all day, but I clicked without checking. When it led me to a page to pay them £3.00, I went back and checked the original email, which I now saw was full of strange sentences and from a weird sender.
I never considered that possibility until now… But I am willing to accept that their supply chain suffered due to plague, plus some of their lazy bois may well have gotten plague, too. Such is life these days.
Another night of strange, disjointed dreams involving sand, a road race, and a foot locker. I know I woke at least 3 different times, but I managed to fall back to sleep till I gave up just before 6 this morning. I have since tended to the critters and had my breakfast, while caffeination continues.
I got a delivery of a couple of pairs of jeans yesterday in a size I haven’t worn in longer than I can remember. They’re a tad snug, but since I can zip them while standing, I declare that they fit! Huzzah! Today, a mattress topper for the guest bed is due to be delivered, and tomorrow, the curtains-to-become-valences are to arrive. Guess I’ll be breaking out the sewing machine tomorrow.
Dang, that’s a lot going on for mid-week! Happy Wednesday!
I think it was the fact that you didn’t put the deviled aigs on a fancy deviled aig plate. I don’t own such a thing so I just put them in a Tupperware thingy and eat them from that. Sorry, Swampy!!
Good Morning Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 57 Amurrkin out and rainy with a predicted high of 63 and rain this mornin’ which should clear out this afternoon. We shall see. Comestibles need to be procured and I need to deal with church janitor Junior Warden stuff today. I think both can wait until after the rain goes away. Sup shall be oven fried chikin, green beans, smashed N.O.T., and rolls.
nellie I did, indeed, like MetalMouse said kinda volunteer to be church janitor Junior Warden this year. Hey, it’s my last year on the Vestry, so why not go out with a bang!
MOOOOOOM yay on pendin’ recliner delivery. So mote it be.
red glad you got the meds issue straightened out for at least a while. Yay for Nelson havin’ a new buddy!
It was the fact that you were wearin’ white stiletto heels before Easter that made me hiss and run away.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah
Afternoon, mumpers! It’s pretty average out there, warmed up since yesterday and the white stuff has all gone now. The weather app says “The sun is a fucking wanker” and promises me 9C/48F all day, mostly sunny. That’ll be why it’s not sunny at all out there.
Busy day for me, I’ve had two long meetings this morning, sorted out a bunch of student problems and now I’m waiting for the new semester’s timetables to go live this afternoon which will result in a flood of requests from the little cherubs wanting to swap classes. They all come to my inbox, and I am instructed to refuse anything that’s not a work/caring responsibility or a direct clash with another class. I’ve been able to run a clash-check report and it says there are none so we’ll wait and see what happens.
metalmouse I put the bin out the night before collections because they keep changing the route. We used to be at the start of the route and the bin was emptied before I left for work (when I traipsed daily to campus) but now we are on the other end of the route so it’s mid-morning before we see the dustcart. However, yesterday they did empty it, and we also managed to do grocery shopping.
I’ve played jenga with the contents of the fridge to fit it all in, and the cats are reassured that we have sufficient food, tinned fish and treats to keep them in the manner to which they intent to remain accustomed.
Time to forage for lunch before my third meeting of the day…
It’s a loud day here- the boiler’s being replaced, which means lots and lots of banging, drilling and terrible radio. Not ideal for a day irking from home watching training videos, really.
At least there is a nice park pretty close, so I did go out for a bit of a quick walk, as it’s not actively raining right now, and I’ve reached the point where I’ve been through basically everything, and I’m losing the ability to focus. I just need someone to contact me to properly go through some training on the actual programmes, rather than just watching presentations of such, so I can actually start doing stuff from next week. There really isn’t a proper system for setting new people up from home.
Between weather, consequent bus problem, and attendant power outages throughout the area, I’m not going in today. Even if DH has the day off (he’s already gotten a text about power outage issues at his irkplace), I’m not risking driving in high winds and intermittent rain with probable problems with traffic lights.
Nettie, glad you still have power, sounds like the weather took a vicious turn there as you described above and staying home is the wise option. Hope house is OK.
Nut, training videos are fine, but not like actually doing the job. Enjoy the park and hopefully things will be better.
boo fae, sounds like they’re keeping you active. And you’ll be sooooo popular turning down their perfectly good reasons to swap classes…
2bob, When I get stuff like that I always run over and check the original e-mail, but being relatively cheap (about $5 US), I guess they were hoping people wouldn’t check too closely. And sad to say, some folks won’t…
Wheelie, hooray for the zoo opening. Boo for the rain.
Red, not sure how I feel about appearing in your dreams, but as long as I’m not doing anything illegal, immoral or fattening, go right ahead…
Need to get moderately dressed and head over to the bank and then Wal-Mart for a couple things, Rain is predicted for the afternoon, so that will be a good time to read the paper and do my puzzles. All y’all take care now.
