Regardless of who started it and for what reason, I gladly jumped on the bandwagon of hate and said some things that were pretty mean and not based on anything remotely factual. I thought I was being unbiased at the time, but a quick review of our discussion reveals some majorly baseless accusations and meaningless bravado, IMO from both of us
I hesitate to reveal any more information about me ;), but I think I should tell everyone that I am an extremely stubborn person. When I feel I have been slighted, I take umbrage with a vengeance. However, I’m also very forgiving and willing to let bygones be bygones. Water under the damn, bury the hatchet.
So I accept your sentiments Rubyand propose the same in return. It was never my intent to start trouble either. We will probably always have our disagreements, but that shouldnt stop us from being friends. I also in turn gained a lot of wisdom and advice from this thread that will benefit me greatly on The Dope and, more importantly, in life.
Hmmmmm . . . I’m torn on this one. I do agree that ** Auto ** has a history of less than savory contributions, but I generally take those tongue in cheek (pun intended). I guess he’s never bothered me because he does contribute some mirth and it’ s easy to either conclude that he’s on the verge of trolling or he’s just a wiseguy.
Then we have **Rubystreak ** who can get a bit serious and fight “the good fight”. I don’t know that it was warranted in the dreaded buttsex thread, simply because I couldn’t fathom that it was meant as anything other than tongue in cheek (pun intended). In any case , I have enjoyed her posts and find her an articulate voice in the fight against ignorance of many ilks.
My ulimate wish is that I can hire** Ruby ** to be my mouthpiece when faced with that one trick pony of a poster ( who shall remain nameless) that pushes * me * beyond the bounds of all reason. For instance, she (or he) that can interject in any post, any post at all, the awesome ratio of her (or his!) tit to hip ratio, her (or his!) top notch job and opulent office, her (or his!) sexual voracity, a detailed account of her (or his!)current dates and of course, her (or his!) extenisve wardrobe (lingerie having its own sub-category). Im speaking of she (or he!) who puts the “whore” in attention whore.
So, I guess what I’m saying is, I’m not particulary peeved or puzzled by ** Ruby **'s mano a mano with ** Auto **, but I’d really like to see put her skills to better use.
Not to think that you even know who I am WOOKINPANUB, but I’m really glad that you’ve put enough information in that sentence to say that I’m definitely in the clear, to say the least. Whew! My extremely poorly made point is that because I find ** Auoto’s** posting habits low on the old offense-o-meter and ** Ruby **'s in the upper half of my admire-o-scope, I consider this particular discussion a wash, but wish ** Ruby **, or smart cookies like her, would call other posters, who’s habits I find infinitely more annoying. to the proverbial carpet.

Wow, thanks for the admiration. I wonder who you’re talking about. I actually haven’t even been around here much lately, which is why it surprised me that Epimetheus had such a list of my recent “offenses.” It’s funny, the divide between what some people find offensive and others think is funny, or cute, or not worthy of comment. You can PM me if you want to share the name of the person ticking you off… maybe I agree with you already and you don’t even know it. 'Cause I highly suspect I do.
The reason I went after Autolycus, though he’s harmless, was the rape comment, which I think really upset me because I just yesterday finished the book Kite Runner. If you’ve read it, you know what I mean. That, and really, he worries me, and I wanted to kick his ass for that. We all see how well THAT turned out.

I think Auto has talent, he seems almost too well written for a person of his age and apparent maturity ( ) level. It’s like his writing skills passed his social skills about 5 years ago and just kept charging right the fuck ahead. I think his drinking ‘problem’ is overstated and overplayed (by Auto and the gang here). Society has a tendency to label people too quickly these days, if it were up to some I’d be labeled an alcoholic because I drink to access on occasion, even though I will go two or three weeks without, when I do go out I like to get ripped.
I don’t pass out, but I have blacked out within recent memory (Jeager bombs, too many).
And so what if the guy like to post a lot here. He’s funny, well written, entertaining and et cetera-ish, which is hard to find, really.
He’s got a looooooong way to go to get to the 20,000 post mark, so let’s not be throwing any stones from that glass house, 'mkay (not directed at anyone in particular, meant as a universal scolding)? And as long as he’s presenting well written funny shit he can post his one OP per day- everyday, right? Big deal.
Why do I like the Dope? Because mostly I like to laugh, learn, and teach. In about that order. If I stopped finding content here that was funny, I’d stop coming here. I learn way more than I can teach, but I’m willing to share what knowledge I have with anyone that would like to hear it, on that rare occasion. Auto makes me laugh. So there! I said it. End of story.
I think he’d make a good writer, Dave Barry type of stuff, only with a younger angle and a drunken twist, although I hear Dave likes to put 'em back too. In fact, I think half the stuff he’s done he’s either thought of while drinking or attempted while drunk. So take that for what it’s worth.
And I don’t think that Auto’s stuff would transcend on stage, I think it presents itself better written. But that’s just my opinion.
