It has been an interesting week at the museum so far. We’re doing an intensive dive into protyping some exhibits. The graphic designer is in from out of town, and the BME grad students have come to our shop to work on things. Productive, I think.
Howdy Y’all! Mowage got accomplished and OYKW went to the sto’ all by himself like a big boy. A pee-kahn pie jumped in the buggy (that’s southern for grocery cart). Now ‘tis rainy out. Hope it rains all night!
Up from naptime, having a martini and chicken with cavatappi and a salad. I’m moving everything out of the front closet, because they are installing Google Fiber tomorrow. Spot will not be happy.
Must be her, because he seems like a fungi.
I got rained on at high school graduation. I would have preferred the cupcake and the duck.
Sorry about the job, Coppertone.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY VANGO!!!
When my one friend’s husband got absolutely trashed at the reception for her third marriage, I reminded her that the longest sentence in the English language is “I do.”
Which is why I never got married.
Well, we just finished watching the last episode of Vera. So I need to find us another series. We are watching The Coroner but it’s only OK on occasion and meh on others, especially when it hints at sexual tension between the cop and the coroner. It’s not believable in the least. Mostly we watch to see how soon we can figure out whodunnit.
I suppose I should mosey back to bed, since I’ll have the kids tomorrow.
Evening all. Made it to the gym and did the weights for my back, may go tomorrow to do the usual Friday legwork as I’ll be busy refereeing soccer on Friday. Have Cheeseburgered and am finishing off some snacks (popcorn in 100-calorie bags) so they won’t be sitting around the house. Trash has been taken to the curb, so of course I’ve found 4-5 more items that I’ll probably take out just in the interest of completeness.
And about 16 messages to scroll through…
FCM, must have been fun for the parents (and grandparents), wonder how the kids felt about it… and {{hugs}} for the sewing FUBAR, since laughing and pointing would probably get me clobbered by a mallet…
doggio, happy anniversary! Wonder how many folks actually stick it out for 5 years there…
pilot, glad your teeth are working out, still have the organic set but one of these days…
Coppertone, sorry Murphy fouled you up again.
Cookie*, hope the aches faded and you made it to the Center.
Hippo Birdies VanGo!!!
swampy, wish I could get a pecan pie to jump into my buggy…right now the best I can do is a large container of Cheese Balls…
And it’s after 9pm so I suppose I should finish my You-Tubing and head off to bed. Catch y’all on Thorsday.
Out of 20 people in my starting Blueberry clas, I was the last one 2 years in. And the one Air Driver/Inside guy is hitting 47 years this month. So it’s all or nothing.
Please tell me why I’ve already been awake for an hour!
Happy Birthday, VanGo!!!
I’ve got another virtual interview this afternoon for a job that sounds very interesting. Oh, and I never heard back from the one that could have covered my student loans which is ok because I didn’t really want it anyways. But, I’m pretty sure that it had to do with the fact that they are mostly looking for someone with substance abuse experience instead of mental health.
Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 17c/62f with a predicted high of 21c/70f and cloudy. Weather app says “Overcast and fucking dreary. Probably a good day to fucking stay in bed.” Yes, would have been, but I am at work.
Happy birthday, VanGo
Happy birthday to Ziva! We’ve had cats like that, even the current failed fosters are still skittish and wary of both of us without there being any reason for it. Same with Muffin. As soon as cats come into our house, they know nothing but love and care, food and treats. You’d think it would be easy enough to convince them they’re in a safe and comfortable place but even after nearly 3 months, Muffin bit me yesterday while I was trying to give her food.
Are you sure it really is your 5th anniversary if it was autopenned? CEO might not have had any idea what they were signing
Sounds like you’ve been having fun!
Appendages, appropriate and inappropriate, crossed for you! I’m sure Annie is sending positive poodle vibes too
Our local police team put a notification out on FB yesterday asking for CCTV and witnesses to Tuesday’s incident. They also put a card through our letterbox asking us to contact them about CCTV as they know we have cameras at the front of the house. 'im indoors will have to look at that because I don’t know where it ends up (he has an app on his phone but I don’t have it on mine). Anyway, I’ll give them a call today and tell them what I saw, and let them know we may have some CCTV too.
Other than that, I had a quiet night at home with the mogs. I had some Lucy Worsley documentaries to catch up on, BBC4 is having a bit of a Jane Austen season so that’s been quite interesting. I gave the cats their evening treats just before bed, and Muffin decided not to bite me this time, although she did give me a nasty nip in the morning when I was putting her food bowl down.
'im indoors will be home tonight and it will be our last sleep on the old mattress as the new one arrives tomorrow morning. Until then, I have irk to do…
Something in the air? I woke at 4 and couldn’t get back to sleep. Oh, yeah, I fell asleep just after midnight. Another long, stoopit day ahead.
Yoiks! Hope it wasn’t too bad a bite.
I’m surprised Ziva didn’t attack me in my sleep. I forgot to put her food down after Trevor left, so she had nothing all night. She usually eats at night, poor baby. I put it back and even rattled the kibbles, but she didn’t get it. And Trevor is coming back today, so her feeder will be out of reach again. Poor kitteh…
And she just noticed it - I hear chewing behind me.
Speaking of BBC - we watched the final episode of Vera last night, then I started looking thru BritBox for something else to watch. Had to giggle - Vera ended with her retiring, and I saw another series with the same actress running a cafe - her post-retirement career!! It’s on my watchlist now.
SIL is supposed to bring the kids back around 9 or 9:30. So we’ll have about 3 hours here, then I’ll take Trevor home and haul the kids to the marina for a swim. With luck, I’ll get them home as Daughter returns from work, so I can drop them and go. Gotta remember the sunscreen and a big t-shirt to wear over my swimsuit. I don’t need to burn my shoulders, and I’m sooooooo white. I should have bought one of those SPF swimshirts instead of a new suit. Oh well…
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 89 with rain this afternoon/evenin’. Glad I accomplished mowage yestiddy. We shall be bears who brunch at Eggs Up for today’s main need to feed. Afterwards we will go by the church house so I can take care of candle duty. The rest of the day will be spent in high RDOS inactivities.
Now I need more caffeine and suppose I must purtify. Then, onward to bein’ amongst the great unwashed! Rah.
Mornin’ all - 7:15ish as I start driveling. Been up since 0530ish. Warm & lush for my daily balconatin’ and caffinatin’. Lotta puffy clouds about and a large rainstorm over the ocean so that despite sunrise being ~45 minutes ago, the Sun is just now clearing the clouds and blasting me back indoors.
If I’m going to travel, I need to get butt in gear to arrange it. Otherwise a few days of slothful RDOS beckons. Today’s agenda consists of a midafternoon telecon w my finance guy. The rest is … RDOS.
Daughter informed me that Tobias was up at 5:30 this morning. Brace for cranky kid later on.
I just contacted CVS regarding our need for some additional meds for our trip. My seizure meds will run out about 10 days before our return, as will one of FCD’s. It’s my understanding that the pharmacist needs to contact the insurance company for permission to to do an early refill. They’ve got 2 weeks notice, and it should give me time if I need to call BC/BS, tho I expect the pharmacist will have better luck than I might. Luckily it’s just one refill for each of us - the rest of our meds will be fine.
Here’s hoping that will go smoothly. I can’t be without my meds for that long, just in case. I won’t see my neurologist till August.
Morning all. Obeyed my bladder and was up about 6:30am so just waiting for the morning pills to act on an empty stomach before breaking fast with a Big Bowl of Frosted Flakes. That should finish off the cereal in the house pre-trip, finished snacks yesterday, now have to work on the other perishables while not overdoing the calories while also refereeing, getting to the gym, and getting ready for my trip. In other words, lots of management, so of course I will sloth until the last minute…71F now heading to 87F with only a 15% chance of rain, but Fri-Sun promises a 50-50 chance of scattered thunderstorms, so we’ll have to see how the soccer tournament goes. At least it is on some ‘artificial turf’ fields that shouldn’t puddle up but wondering about the footing.
FCM, hope Drs. and Pharmacy support you; I have my pills separated and ready to go, fortunately I got a refill in May so am good to go.
Sticky Buns, between you and Coppertone I am running out of appendages to cross…
So there’s a bad moon on the rise?
boo fae, glad the bite was minor, just have to chalk it up to ‘cats is weird’ I guess. Hope the local constabulary can catch the mad car folks.
swampy, thinking about mowage today, if the rains do show up as promised i don’t know if I can get my grass cut back Sunday and I’d really rather go three weeks without mowage…might see if neighbor is willing to help out.
And been almost an hour since self-medication, so breakfast time is here! Have a good Thorsday all.
