I’m sorry, guys, we won’t be able to make it after all. I didn’t mean to wait this long to let you know, but it’s just not going to work out. Maybe next year. Everybody have fun!
To all the cancellers: It’s okay. This happens every year and we generally expect a rush of cancellations the last week. No big deal. We’ll miss having you but we’ll see you next year!
Oh, no! Can you at least send your dogs?
How are we set for a rain Saturday?
BTW: I have many 2 liter bottles of Diet Soda and 3 six packs of water.
I’m still planning on making Brownies tonight and picking up some Pies or similar baked goods at Delicious Orchards tomorrow on my way home.
The weather report earlier today was that mudgirl will be very, very happy.
That means: Rain. And mud.
But can the adults and food stay dry and how far is the run from the site to the cars?
The pavilion we’re at this year is BIG…we should all fit comfortably underneath the roof with room to spare. It’s probably about 10 or 15 yards from the cars to the pavilion, IIRC. The problem is going to be that you have to duck out from under the pavilion roof to get to the restrooms in the park office building.
Good to know that sounds fine.
Don’t think that hasn’t already come to my attention!
What Exit, yes, the pavilion is certainly large enough to keep us dry (at least those of us who want to remain dry!)
Besides the plates, bowls, silverware, and napkins, I have some cheese, olives, pickles, grapes, and blackberries.
Just a quick reminder - danceswithcats paid the reservation fee this year, so everyone needs to toss a few bucks his way.
Do we get the striptease to go along with that?
Robin
As long as we get a warning first…
Harrumph! I will take pictures for you.
See if you can manage to get covered in pigeons, just to continue the theme.
My diabetic innards love you (guys) for the diet soda and water! Finally decided to go straight with the cheesecake. The friend (who has NO excuse for being unregistered now!!!) whom is coming along with us tomorrow might bring something desert-ish… Or chips… Not sure yet. (You’d think that since she and I go to the same college we would have time to run stuff like this by one another…).
Oh, anything else we need for tomorrow? Odd and end things like foil, salt, pepper?
Her Royal IMFness, Cool, I glad it will be appreciated.
Well we made it safely to Gettysburg and we are at the Country Inn & Suites with free wireless!
I remembered my camera this time, I got mocked (deservingly) for not taking pictures at the last Jersey Dopefest. The worst part is the Dopefest was at my house and I just never remembered to take any.
We plan to go to a Zoo or the Battlefield tomorrow in addition to the Gettysdope.
I think we still need things for the burgers and dogs, like ketchup, mustard, relish, lettuce and tomatoes and whatever. I don’t know if salt and pepper are needed.
So I’ve heard.
In fact - Typo Knig cancelled the car wash scheduled for Saturday. Which means that he and Dweezil will be able to join us for the picnic. Of course, this means he’s skipping one method of getting drenched, and replacing it with another one (no charge for the mud at the new locale). He’s really looking forward to seeing the crowd also. I told him that he, you, Wendell and Paul can sit against a wall and ogle the females like you guys did the last time you were together
Various forms of dip have been made and/or assembled, with a bonus container of fresh French onion dip just 'cause I love you guys. I’ve just got to get everything thrown into a box and we’re off!
