I drank a few of the original Four Loco, when they had caffeine and alcohol. Two tall cans kicked my ass.
Mountain Dew was originally created as a whiskey mixer.
And it’s pretty good.
Especially for restaurants that had stopped serving in-house and were relying on take-out to keep going.
What was their “preferred soda”?
Whatever had the most cocaine in it?
According to this, it’s probably something none of us have ever heard of.
They had opened a business there and since soda in the 1930’s was only a regional thing, they couldn’t get the soda they preferred to mix with their liquor.
I’m guessing it was “Pappy’s Orange Fizzy” or some other thing only sold in Knoxville in the 30s.
