Ghosts (US) Season 4 General Discussion (Spoilers in OP)

BTW, I was just searching for something to watch and discovered that Paramount+ now has all five series of the original UK program, if you’ve never seen the whole thing. (The first three series were available on MAX before CBS adapted it for the US and then the fourth series was available on Paramount+ earlier this year.)

A thousand times, yes. I really like the US Ghosts but the UK production is superb.

It is also possible for Indians in India to be Christian. Sure it is only 3% or so, but of 1,4 Billion, that is a lot.

The whole bit about the basement ghost taking over Sam was overdone.

I thought that bit was overdone.

That is great news, thanks! I’ve been waiting for the 5th season of the UK Ghosts to show up somewhere.

Yes, me too. I saw the first series of UK Ghosts before seeing the US one, and I preferred the UK version—though I’ve come to be fond of the US one, too.

Thanks, @Dewey_Finn, for alerting us!

Binged season 5 of the UK Ghosts over the holidays, which was good timing since the last one was a Christmas episode. I think, as good as the US Ghosts is, that the UK Ghosts has the edge over it. It was good seeing Robin again-- he was always my favorite character. I like his character much better than his US equivalent, Thorfinn.

Turns out (very minor spoiler): the UK season 5 is the series ender-- the final S.5 episode is definitely the last one  It ends on a nice note, though.

Answer: yes. (Supposedly.)

I just now made the connection between the title card and last night’s meteorite!

And now we know the “ghost power” of the basement ghosts (inducing temporary cholera). I read someplace over the holidays that we’re going to learn Hetty’s power sometime this season. I don’t know which other ghosts still have unmentioned powers.

I hope temporary cholera is my ghost power! I’m going to abuse the crap out of it.

Ghost Power

Thor: Manipulate electricity
Sessappis: Insert himself into Livings’ dreams
Isaac: Fart smell
Heddy: ???
Alberta: Livings can hear her hum/sing under the right circumstances, so can electronic devices
Flower: Make Livings high
Pete: Can leave the ghost boundary
Trevor: Can manipulate objects/press buttons with great effort

Cause of Death

Thor: Struck by lightning
Sessappis: ???
Isaac: Dysentery
Heddy: Suicide by choking
Alberta:Poisoned by Heddy’s son (or was it grandson?)
Flower: Attacked by bear
Pete: Arrow through the neck
Trevor: Heart exploded from drug cocktail

That leaves Sass as the only Ghost whose cause of death hasn’t been revealed, and Heddy as the only Ghost whose Ghost Power hasn’t been revealed. Except for the side ghosts, like Bjorn, Patience, 80s Girl, Crash, etc. (although some of their causes of death are kind of obvious).

Didn’t 80s Girl get sucked off? We’ll never know her power!

No as far as I know she’s still around. Her boyfriend got sucked off right as she and he were about to get down to it. She got pissed and went back to sleep.

Then who got sucked off instead of Flower?

The basement ghost who was dating prom night murder girl.

I don’t know that that is Pete’s ‘Ghost Power’ - in the sense that all of the other Ghost Power’s interact with the world of the living - his doesn’t.

It is a power/ability - sure.

A recent episode had me cringing- they have to KNOW that any big Lie/story they try will come undone.

Are you talking about when the contractor forced Jay’s hand about the “silent partner (Isaac)”? Yeah that was kind of tough to watch.

Yep. I did some fast forwarding there.

Lordy, can we please be done with the Kelsey character? I never re-watch the first episode she was in and I didn’t appreciate her in this one either, though there was other good stuff to enjoy.

As much as I like this show, I keep coming back to the question of who are they trying to appeal to? Just like the UK version, it’s meant to be family friendly, which for the most part it is. In fact, sometimes I feel like the dialogue and humor is really dumbed down for kids, then we get an episode featuring a ghost getting herself off on the washing machine.

I really wish some of the UK cast would guest. Not as their Ghost characters; just random, kooky characters like when Matthew Baynton played Pete in the Dumb Deaths Ep.
