Ghosts (US Version): Who Got Sucked Off In Season 2 Cliffhanger (open spoilers for US and UK even in the OP)

I didn’t find last night’s ep particularly funny but it sure was packed with new information. Hetty’s story is heartbreaking and surprising. It almost doesn’t seem like something Hetty would do but I’ve long realized not to pick stuff apart when it comes to this show..

So the Puritan ghost who’s been wandering around all this time can be introduced as a new ghost.

And BTW, what happened to Pete’s wife’s ghost? I didn’t see her last night.

I think she’s been missing from the last 2 episodes.

I suppose the producers don’t want to pay the actor to appear in more episodes but it seems odd that the character would be absent from the action, given the limited number of things for them to do on the estate.

She’s been hanging around with the decapitated greaser…

I get that paring down the cast in a given episode is financially beneficial but I would like some continuity. Just a brief mention that Carol is off canoodling with Creepy Dirk, or whatever.

I do hope the puritan ghost shows up at some point. The UK version has a puritan ghost and though she has only a small amount of screen time she is hilarious.

Teen and I started yelling about baskets being 4 potatoes high thinking about the puritan ghost tunneling around like the worms in Tremors

Did Hetty’s equivalent in the UK version, Fanny, die by suicide? I know it’s revealed in the first couple of episodes but I don’t remember if it was a murder or a suicide (fell/pushed out a window).

Also, with Thursday night’s reveal of next week’s episode, we now know seven of their eight ghost powers. And Hetty’s death reveal means that we know seven of their eight deaths.

Thor: Death = struck by lightning. Ghost power = manipulate electricity.
Sessapis: Death = not revealed yet. Ghost power = insert himself into Livings’ dreams.
Isaac: Death = dysentery. Ghost power = walk through Livings and make them gag with the smell of rancid shit.
Hetty: Death = suicide by choking. Ghost power = not revealed yet.
Alberta: Death = murdered by poisoning. Ghost power = humans can hear her hum and vocalize if she puts effort into it, Alexa can hear her speak.
Flower: Death = mauled by bear. Ghost power = can walk through Livings and get them high.
Pete: Death = shot in the neck with an arrow by a child scout. Ghost power = can leave the Woodstone property.
Trevor: Death = drug overdose. Ghost power = can move/touch objects with great effort.

I thought she could condemn folks to hell?

No, I think she was just a character in another character’s Hell story arc. If her ghost power was sending people to Hell, there would be no other ghosts. She’d have dispatched them the first time they annoyed her.

When was that revealed? I’m caught up on episodes, and thought I had been paying attention.

He said “Also, with Thursday night’s reveal of next week’s episode”. So probably shown in previews.

Ah, I see, thanks. That’s pretty dumb (I mean the preview if that’s the case, not HeyHomie’s post). I hate when previews reveal spoilers or the best joke of a particular show, and they do it all the freakin’ time. Fortunately we get most of our TV through streaming, so we are less exposed to previews.

Yeah, in a snippet (as Mrs. Homie and I call them, they’re the little previews of next week’s episodes that are at the end of most CBS, if not all network, comedies/shows) showing a preview of next week’s episode of Ghosts, aired at the end of Thursday’s episode on my CBS affiliate, Pete is seenwalking, terrified, through the streets of a nearby town. Then someone (I think it was Sam) says, “Well, now we know what Pete’s ghost power is. He can leave the property.

Yeah, I don’t even see episode commercials anymore. I usually come into a new episode completely blind.

At least in some cases, the ghost power is related to the manner of death.

Hetty’s counterpart is Fanny Button. She was pushed out the window by her philandering husband after she “caught him atop the gardener and the butler atop them” (or something like that).

We know how the attic, basement, and headless ghosts died too, but not their powers. We know Sam’s mother can burp shrimp.

But we don’t know how Sam’s mother died.

She died in that restaurant, didn’t she? I assumed she choked on something; perhaps shrimp?
