Giggle Gaggle, you've got moxie!

Not too soon I hope. This is getting to be way too much fun.

Hey, don’t call for his banning. I’m fascinated that people in the 21st century can still hold such archaic attitudes and opinions.

We can study him while he’s here, and come to a better understanding of what causes some humans to get stuck at a primitive evolutionary level (socially and psychologically speaking, of course).

He just be pedantic.

Main Entry: ped·ant
Pronunciation: 'pe-d&nt
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle French, from Italian pedante
Date: 1588
2 a : one who makes a show of knowledge b : one who is unimaginative or who unduly emphasizes minutiae in the presentation or use of knowledge c : a formalist or precisionist in teaching
Main Entry: mo·ron
Pronunciation: 'mOr-"än, 'mor-
Function: noun
Etymology: irregular from Greek mOros foolish, stupid
Date: 1910
2 : a very stupid person

I think moron fits his description better actually, given that the ‘knowledge’ he spews forth is pretty dodgy.

pedant: a narrow minded teacher…

(Webster New World Dictionary, College Edition, 1966)
Of course “moron” works well also, in fact I use it frequently.

Study him? OOOO! Do we get to poke him with electrodes? hops up and down excitedly

Yecch! I’d like a little less spunk sprayed on the boards–GG’s posts are the verbal equivalent of one-handed typing.

Sounds to me more like **Justhink, ** minus the thesaurus and the scrambled philosophy tomes. Maybe we should fix them up?

Well he’s banned now, I guess this one put him over the top

Classy.

You know, people, “Report this post to a moderator” is VERY EFFECTIVE.

I just want to repeat this. It works. When you read stuff like what GG wrote, use that link and report it. It works.

Good.

You sure can! If I hadn’t been able to get over that sort of thing, I never would have made it out of junior high. See how much fun it is to take nothing seriously, not to get all worked up, to refuse to take offense at trivial remarks? Taking offense only empowers the offender. I’m pretty comfortable in my belief that I’m no longer a “geek” or “nerd” (or at least, only to a mild degree  ), and whether I’m a “loser” depends on what my objectives are, so time will tell if I lose or win at them. Anyways, it doesn’t bother me. But I did clearly state that out of all his remarks, that’s one of a couple I thought were out of hand.

And so I will, you sassy lass, you

Absent the use of force or deceit to impose one’s idiocy upon others, ignorance harms only the ignorant. So if my ideas (or anyone else’s) about interpersonal relationships are stupid and wrongheaded, well then I’d only be harming myself (and they, themselves.) I’ll rely on what I’ve observed, the specific real-life events of the lives of people around me, over vague assurances to the contrary. It seems that on this subject there are alot of people who like to simply declare that things are a certain way, as if it were just plainly the case and all other viewpoints were reactionary nonsense, but very few people care to really back that assertion up with anything specific. So you might as well leave me to my quirky beliefs, as I’d prefer to be cautious and cynical then be wishful and foolish. But that’s just my little hangup. To each his own, I always say. And so also to Giggle Gaggle, whatever he may be.

Well, shouldda previewed…

He’s banned now, so I suppose there’s no reason to defend or attack him anymore. Making a racist remark was not a smooth move on his part.

Well, it is certainly true that all relationships, from work to family to lovers, have a power component. Some, such as in work and family, are mostly hierarchic in structure and while a certain amount of gamesmanship may improve your standing, the power ranking are rather well defined. OTHO, in romantic relationships, roles are no longer as neatly defined as they used to be. And odds are we will not regress to the days of “barefoot and pregnant.” Rightly so, I might add, for I am all for equality between the sexes. So what you’re left with is more of a personality clash on equal terms. But instead of “manipulating reality” to achieve your ends as you suggest, I posit that a much more mature way of dealing with relationships is exactly the opposite. Simply being as honest as you possibly can under all circumstances – including sex of course. Sure, you’ll win some and you’ll lose more. But such is life.

As to the issue of the dominant and submissive dynamics between couples, it’s a fascinating topic, one that I’ve devoted endless hours reading and trying to understand. Not really pertinent to go into it here, but again, in my experience the more you know yourself that more comfortable you’ll feel speaking the truth.

Fuck games. Unless blinfolds and cuffs are involved of course

Hey, hey, the guy’s a prick, but let’s take the post in context. I’m surprised it’s not locked out and banned on its face. I read the OP title and got shivers.

I am just about to start a thread calling for the unbanning of Giggle whatever. He was too much fun. Reading his post was like watching someone having convulsions in a china store.

By the way…

Quite reasonable, but can I call chasing guys that?

He reminds me of Tom Cruise’s character in Magnolia. I can almost hear him proclaiming “respect the cock and tame the cunt” to a room full of maladjusted halfwits. I’m sure he has a similar array of deep-seated insecurities too.

You’re all just mad because he’s right. I mean, we can all agree about the Tesla thing, right? Although I’m not entirely certain he invented the death ray. The “treating women like dogs” comment was a little off. I’m sure he meant to say “human beings” but then his dog walked by or something and he started thinking about dogs. This happens to me a lot, even more actually because I tend to see a lot of things that aren’t even there.

Ah well. The object of my ire as been banned and I asked for this thread to be closed.

Was he a conservative do you suppose?
