Gilmore Girls 1/30 spoilers!

Oh god please tell me that Lorelai isn’t going back to Luke AGAIN! I was finally getting used to her being with Christopher and now Chris has gone and overreacted to Lorelai’s relationship Luke. Chris wasn’t there for Rory, but Luke was. Luke has been a huge figure in Rory and Lorelai’s life so how can Chris be indignant to Lorelai doing Luke such an important favor as writing a character statement to help him win custody of his daughter!? Christopher is just acting like a bitter and selfish brat! I really wonder how they’ll pair Lorelai with Luke for the umpteeth time without repeating anything from past episodes. Maybe Lorelai will never be able to choose between them and will die alone. Who knows? At this point I’m getting annoyed with being jerked around so often. Which one will it be, Lorelai? Pick one and stick with him!

And Richard Gilmore can’t die! He’s too awesome to die! The writers need to stop putting so much useless drama in there and focus on main storylines that really matter to the show! They should have talked about Lane and whatshisface more. I didn’t even know that she was carrying twins until last week’s episode. Was it discussed earlier? The last episode that I remember with Lane was when she first found out she was pregnant. It doesn’t seem like the writers are revealing the plotline very well. We’re getting short spurts of drama with bits of comedy in it which is a far cry from the beautiful masterpiece that this series once was. The first four or so seasons were really watch worthy and man did I want to watch the reruns on ABC Family. It didn’t matter that I saw the same episode two or three times already - they were still interesting and fun to watch! Man, this series is really going down the hole.

I haven’t been able to catch the show for a few weeks, so tonight’s episode was quite a catch-up. I always thought the Sookie’s ordering her husband to have a vasectomy…NOW… was a bit over the top behavior, so I’m glad it came back to bite her in the butt. And Chris had a great opportunity to grow up this week, and he didn’t. If they let Richard die I may stop watching. Kill Chris instead.

Chris did seem to give up too quickly-to the point of being out-of-character. And I can’t see Lorelai and Luke ever being a couple again; I think they both know they work better as friends.

And Richard can’t die-unless he gets to come back periodically like Nathaniel on 6FU. :dubious: OK, so he can’t die.

Christopher has always been irrationally jealous of Luke, but this was just ridiculous. “It read like a love letter”? Please. Of course, Luke was pretty irrationally jealous of Chris once or twice, too.

I find Lorelai and Luke more entertaining as a couple than Lorelai and Christopher, but I still don’t see them getting back together. It would be fun to see them as good friends again, though.

Oh, happy day, Rory made up with Lucy. Big deal.

Yeah, they better not kill Richard. He had a heart thing in the first season, I think, and he came through it okay.

I will bet a shiny new dollar bill that Luke and Lorelai will be married in the Gilmore Girls world by the time we reach Memorial Day in our own.

It’s too bad they set it up the way they did - how unfair is everything that’s happened to Gigi, who thinks she has a new mommy and sister and doggy and house and everything and now gets it all yanked away again? - but it’s totally going to happen. The long, lingering shots on Lauren Graham’s face every time she talks to / thinks about Luke - the way she had exactly the same facial expression when talking to Luke last episode about his letter of rec. as she did when she asked him to marry her - the way the dialogue is written - “I won!” - it seems to me pretty evident that they’re setting up a reunion.

Which is, as far as I’m concerned, good, because their breakup was the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen on TV.

SHE - “I love you soooooo much. Marry me right now this minute!”
HE - “Uh, that’s ridiculous.”

<poof>

SHE - “Then we’re breaking up!”
HE - “But I thought you just said, three seconds ago, that you loooooooved me?”
SHE - “Quiet, you.”

<less than 24 hours pass>

HE - “I love you, too! Marry me right now this minute!”
SHE - “No. You never wanted to marry me.”
HE - “But I just said, just, just right two seconds ago, let’s get married right now this minute.”
SHE - “Quiet, you.”

<A day passes>

SHE - “I love Luke. I am so depressed that this ended. But he didn’t want to marry me.”
HER BEST FRIEND - “That is so stupid. He just said yesterday that he wanted to get married.”
SHE - “He only did that so we wouldn’t break up.”
HER BEST FRIEND - “Right, because he loves you and wants to marry you.”
DOPEY THE DWARF - “Hi! Hey, Lorelai, let’s get married right now this minute!”
SHE - “Good idea, Dopey the Dwarf! I love you sooooo much!”
HER BEST FRIEND - “Wait, but seven minutes ago you loved Luke so much you had to dump him, which made sense to no one on Earth, and now you…”
SHE - “Quiet, you.”

There’s no way that Richard is going to die. It’s all just to get Luke and Lorelai together in the hospital. “Luke was there when I needed him! Where were you Chris?”

It’s very in-character for Chris to blow the letter out of proportion and leave in a snit. He hasn’t given up.

I enjoyed both shows since the break. They seem to have gotten on a smoother track since the fall. Maybe because none of Rory’s boys have been around. The storyline with Lucy’s ex, whose name slips my mind, was grating. Glad he’s gone.

Sure Chris might have given up too easily and it did seem a bit irrational, but I hate him so anything to get him the hell off the show is fine by me. Also, of course Luke and Lorelai will get back together. I have hated the entire relationship storyline between Luke and Lorelai, it was filled with irrationality, but they are better suited for one another.

Sir Prize “Boyfriend” is named Marty.

The best part of the show (except for the intro before the credits - these have been consistantly funny and good all season) was Sookie’s line to Jackson when she stormed out of the house: “Take care of that or I will when I get back.”

I say Richard should die. It’ll kill him anyway when he finds out Lorelei and Christopher are done, so do it now before there’s even more pain for him. Besides, who doesn’t want to see Lorelei so overcome with guilt about her mom that she moves into the Gilmore Mansion with Emily after the funeral?
