Me too. In Stars’ Hollow Rory was handed everything on a silver platter. Logan isn’t willing to do that – he loves her, but unlike Dean Jess and the rest, he’s the only one who’s going to come to the relationship as Rory’s equal, instead of her pursuer. And that means that she’s in the position of not getting her way for the first time in her romantic life. It’s good for her that she has to learn to deal with it, and it’s the only kind of relationship that’s going to last for her long term, because when she’s on the pedestal she’s going to get bored like she did with Dean (twice).
If Lorelei and Luke don’t get married, I swear I’m going to Star’s Hollow and slap both of 'em. While I’m there I’ll torch the diner and the inn for good measure. They need to go ahead and get married, move in, do it in the middle of the gazebo for the whole town to see… something already!
The Lane and Zack thing will be interesting. I can’t wait to see Mrs. Kim’s reaction! That ought to be a braying jackass Seventh Day Adventist fit to end all fits. Why, I’ll bet Mrs. Kim loses her religion, in Korean, of course.
I think Logan is kind of smarmy but he’s the best boyfriend Rory has had so far, IMO. Since he’s signed on for the next season, maybe that romance will develop.
I’ve always thought the show would end when Rory graduates from Yale. That will have given the show a good, what, seven years, which seems a good amount of time to remain a good show. Most shows really do “jump the shark” beyond that.
I need to check out CS more often. I had no idea there were threads about GG. It it the one television show I try to arrange my life around to see each week. It’s gonna be a tough withdrawal when the show ends.
I’m pretty sure that Lane and Zack will go through with their wedding. They’re supporting characters so they didn’t get to have as many crises as the principals. Lane’s mom has mellowed out and she will be happy for her daughter ultimately.
Count me as Anti-Logan. He makes old Jess interesting (I actually really like the new Jess).
Logan is spoiled, swarmy, lying, cheating (he can justify it all he wants) shitty person. If you took away his money and therefore his impunity from the repercusions of any of his actions… He’s just plain ol’ shitty dude.
Someone who ‘challeneges’ Rory doesn’t automatically make a good boyfriend.
I feel the same way. Logan didn’t make Rory less of a goody-two-shoes, he just made her a different kind of goody-two-shoes. The kind who makes mistakes and bad decisions like a regular person but still acts like she’s above everyone. I miss the old Rory. Even though “she could do no wrong,” she wasn’t nearly so fake. Half the time she’s onscreen these days, I feel like it’s all an act. She’s become pretty smarmy herself. I think she needs to keep the confidence she gained from dating Logan but drop the arrogance.
I don’t know if she likes Zach as much as she realized that Lane has to make these choices for herself. Dating someone Mrs. Kim doesn’t like is completely different than her little girl getting married to someone like that. No, this match-up can only end in tears and Dim-sum on the walls.
Of all the Rory boyfriends, I like Logan the best. I agree that he does bring out something different in her. And she has really changed him, at least when they are together. True, as we found out Tuesday, he is such a dog when he feels he is single, and that bothered me a bit. I hope they do recover in a plausible manner on this one.
And why shouldn’t she (Rory) enjoy the benefits of coming from a wealthy family. She’s got old-school credibility with her Grandparents, and neavue-rich (yeah yeah, but you know what I mean) cash flow from Christopher now. Just because her mother decided to raise her daughter away from that life doesn’t mean Rory has to avoid it too. She’s got the good basic foundation to handle it. A lot better than any of the other spoiled rich brats she has been surrounded by.
I think they’ve clearly shown the last few season that Rory DOESN’T have the foundation to handle it. She has the foundation to eventually get her senses back but it takes major knock to do it. She has wallowed in the shallowness of wealth with glee repeatedly the last two seasons. Her sense of entitlement has made Rory a real uncomfortable character to watch at times.
Before money was a tool to help her get to where she wanted for her intellectual betterment (Chilton, Yale). Now its a plaything to get her materials and get her out of responsibility.
I’m hoping that if Logan and her get back together, that Logan walks away from the money. Season 7 can be Lor and Rory helping Logan adjust to real life, hopefully in Stars Hollow.
