Tonight was the night that Lorelei learned about April. And you know what, I was mad. Because Lorelei should have been a lot more angry and betrayed about the whole thing. Luke has known he’s a father for two months (in Star’s Hollow time), and still it takes a chance meeting between L. and April for him to fess up. She should have taken his head off, considering the hell he put her through when he found out about her and Christopher’s innocent night together. But it may not be a total loss in that area: when Luke asked her if it was okay to postpone the wedding , that was a “No” masquerading as a “Yes” if ever I heard it.
Logan is still in the doghouse with Rory. I wonder if we’ll ever know what L.'s letter said. And do yo think L. lent her support to Logan, or is she just stringing him along because she really doesn’t like him?
Lane, Zack - who cares. I know I don’t anymore. Zack got really flakey in the episodes just before the band broke up, and I was glad to see him go. Does Lane still work at Luke’s? I don’t remember her quitting, or getting fired, although she obvious took some time off to go on tour with the band.
Taylor reached new heights in megalomania - calling a teleconference town meeting at 3:12 a.m. is priceless. What do you think would happen if the whole town just ignored him from now on? And wasn’t Luke placed in charge of the Town Council not so long ago? How did that end?
And why does Yale’s newspaper, one of the most prestigious college papers in the world, have a sophmore as the editor? That’s one plot device that could use a rewrite.
I think the combination of the secret and the postponement have hurt Lorelai to the point where the anger will be postponed, but I think it’s coming.
I suspect that having Logan deliver the letter was a test of some sort. I don’t think Lorelai likes him, but thinks that he may be sincere in his feelings for Rory
I really don’t want Lane to demean herself with that asshole again. I’m hoping that Mrs. Kim’s telling Zack that she wouldn’t stand in his way is her way of allowing Lane to realize what a jerk he is on her own without turning Zack into “forbidden fruit”.
I don’t know the answer to that.
Taylor seems to have just enough power over just enough people where he’s dangerous if ignored.
Aren’t Paris and Rory juniors? But still, it does seem that there would be a senior (or graduate student) in charge; perhaps Paris acquired clout by dating Doyle. I think her reign of terror will be short-lived.
Lane still works at Luke’s - she was working there in the episode last week.
Also, Paris and Rory are juniors. I know that since they’re both one year behind me in school. And I had assumed she got it as a junior from dating Doyle, being a good reporter, and wasn’t she the editor of the paper at Chilton? Or was she just the head of the yearbook?
Luke was never in charge of the town council. Jackson did win an election for selectman and took over Taylor’s job for a short period of time, but hated it because of all the work. I don’t recall him formally resigning the job.
Holy crap that Lauren Graham is a good actor! I kind of expected Lorelai to let Luke off without much drama after learning about April (or at least I hoped she would), because she can understand how crazy it makes you. OK, so I was right – she got pissed off, and got over it. But I didn’t see that last scene coming at all. And the way Graham handled Lorelai’s facial expressions – bright and shiny when Luke was looking at her, with an immediate look of despair when he took her up on the postponement which she immediately hid well enough to fool someone who wanted to be fooled – oh man. Of course, it’s not like she’s blameless in this – she’s the one who planned the whole wedding without consulting him, and then she’s the one who brought up the postponement (but of course with no expectation he’d jump.)
My roommate works as an extra and yesterday he was on GmoreGs-
Re: Lane and the Band
At a Bat Mitzvah (not April’s apparently) Zack gets Gil and ?Brian? to quit their gig as a wedding/Bat Mitzvah band and reform Hip Alien… hopefully under a better name.
I thought the postponement of the wedding coming from Luke was an excellent twist. All signs pointed to Lorelai boning out again but this was unexpected.
I love April I think she’s ultimately jumpsharkness but dammit they created a great character and found the perfect actress to play her.
I agree, Cliffy about Lauren Graham. I’ve caught her in a few other things (except not Bad Santa), and I always enjoy her performances.
BobT Jackson, right! Thanks on that. I knew someone had supplanted Taylor at one time.
Pushy thanks for the spoiler info. That looks to be interesting (if uneccesary, in my opinion) direction for those guys to go. What part did your roommate play, a guest at the function?
