Lane has apparently moved out of the apartment and back home with mom and apparently broke up with Zack. The last time we saw Lane and her storyline, Zack had sabotaged their big break… I’m betting off camera there was a break up and she then moved home. I don’t think he came by for quality time. I think he came by wanting to talk about what happened and didn’t want to do it with Mrs Kim there (hence the wanting to go upstairs bit)
Before the break, the band had a show where they were being scouted by record agents. Zack lost it. (Or more precisely - Zack had been having a hissy fit for several days leading up to the show, and ended up starting a bar fight as they were going on. He and Lane broke up in the alley outside the bar.)
I thought it looked horrid on the mannequin. And it made Lorelei look fat. I mean how bad does a dress have to be to make that woman look like should call Jenny Craig?
I’m not sure about the whole “Luke has a daughter” thing. I’m not going to stop watching over it, but it just doesn’t seem like a good idea.
I don’t think they introduced the daughter so that Luke would be tempted to get back together with the mother-- Luke is so ultra-loyal that it wouldn’t ring true. But they did need a way for Luke to be okay with Christopher being in Rory’s life, and now he understands an estranged father wanting to be involved. Also, this gives Luke some outside dimension. Without Rachel or Jess (characters connected to the show only through Luke), Luke has no existence outside the diner and his relationship with Lorelai. This gives the character a chance to stretch.
(Please note that I do not in any way want them to bring Jess back on a permanent basis, though I do think they’ll probably follow up on the “Jess wrote a book! What am I doing with Logan?” plot.)
I do want Rory to reconcile with Logan, though. He knows he screwed up, he’s trying, they both love each other, and Rory needs a guy she can good-naturedly bicker with.
Also, how could Lorelai choose daisies for this wedding? Daisies are associated more with Max than Luke-- Max proposed with 1000 yellow daisies.
I thought that exact same thing. *Max * is the daisy guy. But then I remembered that the reason he did it was because when he first proposed, Lorelai said that he should have done it differently, and IIRC, she actually used the phrase “there should be a thousand yellow daisies.” So, I’m willing to chalk the daisy thing up to them clearly being a favorite of hers.
That dress was awful. Far too froufy. It had way too much *stuff * on it. Lorelai is a simple sheath kind of girl.
