Giraffe, closed a thread by Chefguy that was just ripe for the picking. Yes it was a lame rant but the possiblilties were endless.
It was a rant about a cannibal by someone, jealous?, named Chefguy.
The cannibal’s girlfriend was obviously a very bitter woman.
I could go on and on. But noooo. Giraffe is a spoil sport and stopped the fun before it could even get started.

hell, even the OP himself wasn’t interested in the thread (as evidenced by his vague title, one word OP w/link, later admissions that he was too tired/sick/whatthefuck ever, to comment further). if he has so little interest in it, why on earth should anyone else? the only real reason to leave it open was to allow us to heap scorn upon the OP for such a lame ass thread.
But even that doesn’t justify said lame ass threads existence IMHO.
It wasn’t a lame rant, it just wasn’t a rant at all. Content free OP’s have always been closed. If you have an issue with the story that was linked to, why not write up an OP about it instead of pitting Giraffe for doing his job correctly?

I guess this is going to have to be like explaining a joke to someone. See, the OP in the thread Giraffe closed gave no indication whatsoever what it was about, other than a blind link. No indication of whether said link was worksafe either. No meaningful commentary on whatever it was that the link linked to. And nothing in the title of the thread to indicate what the fuck was being pitted. Do you need more explanation?
Giraffe did a great job. People should put a little bit of effort into their OPs.
If you want a lighthearted fun little thread making lame puns about user names, there’s a place for it one forum North.

Chefguy didn’t even take the opportunity to point out that the killer’s middle name is Wayne (which is interesting because of an apparent preponderance of serial and other killers with Wayne in their names).

The policy of closing threads containing a link and maybe a sentence has been around for a bit. There were a few too many threads like that popping up in MPSIMS iirc. There has to at least be some kind of potential for discussion to keep a thread open. I’m relatively sure if you wanted to start your own RO thread about this fine young cannibal, the mods would let you provided you actually put some meat on the thread.
