Giraffe *was* on vacation!

To answer the question of this thread, I was in fact on vacation. Specifically, I was in Zambia and Zimbabwe for a bit under four weeks. It was a truly amazing, unforgettable trip. It’s also quite nice to be home, not living out of a backpack.

Just wanted to let you all know that I’m back. Of course, unless someone calls me a shit sandwich or something, I’ll probably feel honor-bound to move this to MPSIMS, but for now it can sit in the Pit.

Who?

What’s this all about?

Hey you bastard monkey rapist! Where’s my fucking tee shirt!?

So, where the leaves at the top of the trees more succulent over there in the mother continent?

What kind of mod takes a VACATION??? What a shit sandwich.

Ahhh the SDMB…where no good intention goes unpunished.

Welcome back.

{{{Giraffe}}}

Visiting the relatives, eh?

You went on holiday to Zimbabwe?!! Isn’t it basically falling apart under Mugabe?

I bet.

Giraffe was safe because he doesn’t own a farm there.

Natty dread it ina Zimbabwe
Set it up ina Zimbabwe
Mash it up ina Zimbabwe
Africans a liberate Zimbabwe

They give this shit sandwich a job as a moderator and what does he do? He takes a month off! The nerve!

Did you sample the local foliage? Is it true that the tastiest leaves are always at the top of the tree?

So, did ya see any…ya know…giraffes?

This thread probably isn’t the place to do it, but I’m sure I am not the only one who would like to hear about your trip.

And um…you are a big, shit sandwhich for not buying NoClueBoy a tshirt (unless you did and then I apologize).

Well, that’s THAT cleared up. Now, has anyone seen Bosda lately??!

:smack: We’ve all been so worried about Giraffe that we completely forgot about Bosda! I mean, my God man, where IS he?

Only for a few days, most of it canoeing. Mugabe is definitely destroying the country. Inflation last year was 300%, they have no gasoline (and thus gas lines go on for miles), and we saw the rubble from quite a few knocked-down homes and businesses just in the one town we passed through. Not to mention that by kicking out most of the white farmers and replacing them with his buddies who don’t actually have the money or experience to farm, the country (which used to export food) now has to import food from Zambia (in some cases from the same farmers who left Zimbabwe).

The locals we talked to don’t much care for him, to put it mildly.

I’d be happy to give details. Once I go through the thousands of pictures we took, I’ll put some online and start a new thread with a link to them.

My Pit Mod went on vacation and all I got was a shit sandwich.

Welcome back, and I look forward to hearing about your adventures!
