In another forum I read about this earlier today. To my surprise a lot of people think what the bus driver did was right. I don’t.
Basically a bus driver in Lindau, Germany felt that since he could see this young ladies cleavage in the rear view mirror she was a distraction to him. He gave her the choice to move seats or get off of the bus. Here’s a story in german which includes a picture of the girl.
What do you guys think?
If she was well-covered, then I’m on her side. If she wasn’t, then I’m on… her side. But I can see how the bus driver would be distracted, and driving dangerously. He was in the right. But I’ll gladly console the girl.
I side with the driver. His primary concern was the safety of the passengers, which is the way it’s supposed to be. At least she was given the option to move to another seat, although if it happened exactly as the article described, then he was a bit harsh about it.
Thats exactly what I mean, man. How sorry is this guy that he can’t drive a friggin’ bus without looking at her cleavage? According to the article she was wearing a snug dress of some kind. So what? Its freaking July! I’m in germany right now myself and its been 90 plus degrees! She wasn’t wearing a string bikini or anything.
I’m a guy and Lord help me I love boobies, but I can’t get my head around people saying the driver was right. It may have been legal, but it was also a silly, ridiculous thing to do. That driver must be a lonely, lonely man.
Unless she’s giving him a lap dance as he drives, I don’t see how they should be distracting him. His eyes should be on the road and the mirrors outside his bus, not the mirror looking back at the passengers.
I also agree that it’s ridiculous to say that the cleavage distracted him from driving. It certainly wouldn’t distract most drivers…especially that woman…did you see her pic? But, I think you’re missing the point. This driver did get distracted, so he took steps to prevent it. He was too harsh, but he did the right thing. Safety is more important than your embarrassment or anyone else’s.
If this driver cannot perform his job function when faced with the awesome distraction of cleavage, this driver should be fired for being profoundly bad at his job function.
Well… it’s great that the guy admitted it, at least. He might have saved some lives. Now all that’s left is to make sure that he never, ever gets behind the wheel of a vehicle again. I mean, good Christ! If his driving is that vulnerable to low-cut blouses, how has he managed to survive in German traffic all these years?
“I cannot work under these conditions! Your womanly structures are affecting my mind! You are a danger to all of us!”
It’s a low cut shirt but still well within the bounds of normal summer clothes. If he’s that susceptable to distraction he has shouldn’t be driving, let alone driving a bus.
What cleavage? What was he getting so worked up about?
If this individual cannot drive a bus without being distracted by that, then he needs to find a new job, as he is clearly not up to the task. He punished the woman for his inadaquacy, plain and simple. I’ve been distracted by cleavage before, but apparently I actually have the tiny amount of self control required to prevent this from causing car accidents.
I also believe that the woman’s outfit is unexceptional. It may be more risque than some, but it’s more modest than many.
I’m also inclined to think that the driver may have been right about asking that something he found distracting be removed from his view - but if he’s distracted by that, what’s going to happen when he’s confronted with the image of a breast-feeding mother? The manner in which he made his complaint known, however, is completely inexcusable - his difficulty dealing with the woman’s outfit is not a flaw in the woman’s outfit, rather in his own character.
I agree, if there’s a problem here it’s in the driver’s head, I think they should put HIM off the bus. What’s next, maybe he won’t like the way people look at him, or reading something he disapproves of, or the color of their clothes, or… This is stupid.
Heck, there are people who swear the mere sight of a woman’s ANKLE can make them go bizerker. I’ve always maintained that if you can’t handle the sight of some flesh, it’s Your problem, not the flesh’s!
