Glasnost Mafia

especially since astral even stated that it could be construed as a defensive vote. see, but that’s what’s good about pleo. not only can he educate us on how to play correctly but he can tell us what we were actually thinking.

As it stands now, I see absolutely no reason why **Pleonast **doesn’t vote for MentalGuy, for exactly the same reason that 5 other people have already done so, thus breaking the existing tie (and not violating his own ‘anti-self-preservation-vote’ policy).

ok, that was snarky and unnecessary on my part.

Ah, to Hell with it…

unvote Mahaloth
vote Pleonast

I have no idea whether **MentalGuy **is Scum or Town (or other), but everything that **Pleonast **says lately makes me think he’s Scum. And everything that he *doesn’t *say has the same effect.

If MentalGuy ultimately flips scum and Pleo doesn’t, that vote might not look super-great for you, Suburban.

I didn’t realize your comment was a joke, and since it’s repeating a common meme, I thought is worth pointing out how it was wrong.

MentalGuy’s vote is another anti-town vote on me. Join the line.

Yeah, I could, but then some number of players are likely to switch back to me claiming gotcha. More anti-votes.

I’m happy voting for the player I find most suspicious rather than a player I find somewhat suspicious. I’ll also note that ped has not returned. Their contributions this game consist mostly of jabbing me and then placing a vote for no reason.

OK…what’s your point?

If **Pleonast **does flip Scum, then I look great.

But for all I know, **Pleonast **is Scum, I’m going to get him lynched today, and then Tonight I’ll find out I’m a Sleeper and get recruited. Wouldn’t *that *be awkward!

I’m not particularly worried about how I might look in the future should certain people wind up with certain alignments. I’m trying to lynch the person who I feel is most likely to be Scum.

Sometimes I can’t win no matter what I do.

(See the smiley? It indicates a joke.)

Wow, talk about unforced claims…

Apparently you missed the very next post?

I know **peeker **got the joke…

Yes, you got me. I’m claiming Sleeper.
And I’m just having too much fun right at the moment. I think I may have had a couple too many cups of coffee today…

You’ve played this game a ton in the past – how is it that you find a player voting for you despite saying that he thinks you lean town and a different player leans scum only “somewhat suspicious”?

I mean, you excoriated me for voting you because I think you have an anti-town position; how can you possibly give MentalGuy a pass here for voting you despite not thinking that you’re scum?

Actually, I did. I need to remember to reload the page before replying. That’s the hazard of reading in one tab and replying in another.

I retract the snark in Post 448.

So, Pleonast, *do *you have any thoughts on MentalGuy?

Do you think he’s Town? Scum? 3rd Party? Too close to tell?

I’m not giving MentalGuy a pass because of anything they’ve done. I’m giving a pass because I’m voting for who I think is most suspicious and I don’t feel the need to move to another suspicious player simply to give more fuel to the anti-Pleonast crowd around here. (See DrainBead, I do account for others’ reactions, I just don’t take responsibility for them.)

A vote for no reason is more suspicious than a vote for a poor reason. A poor reason is something. No reason gives us nothing. And ped’s overall behavior perfectly fits scum do the minimal effort to participate. (Idle is close on that account, but at least they’ve given a reason for their vote.)

I’m sorry; I just don’t see why Mental’s vote is clearly scummy. Yes, he might be voting Pleo even though he suspects Septimus or Astral more. But Septimus isn’t in Lynch contention – it would be a wasted vote; and several players have implied (though I disagree) that Lynching claimed vanilla might be playing the odds: even if Pleo isn’t Scum, he might be Sleeper.

Puzzled by your cryptic comment. You disapprove of my post, which was mainly a vote for Astral … “Even though he’s voting for Astral.” Or did you just mean voting Astral is better than voting Pleo, but not as good as voting Mental?

Wow, I just full-on disagree with you, Pleo. If it wasn’t already obvious enough, we just have very different ways of thinking about this game.

Is anybody but me wondering where **MentalGuy **has gone off to? His last post was the one in which he voted for Pleonast and started this latest ruckus.

In that he did say “I did a complete reread of the Day yesterday, but will not have time to respond to everything before the end of the Day.” Are we to take that as meaning that he won’t be back at all Today?

Both Mahaloth and Astral were in lynch contention, and MentalGuy expressly identified both those players as seeming scummy to him.

Emphases mine.

Not only that, he then expressly stated that “Pleo is a bit more likely to be town with his claim than scum.” And yet he votes for Pleo.

You don’t see what’s suspicious about this?

NETA: Those quotes in post #459 are from MentalGuy in #392, if it wasn’t already clear.
