I’m willing to claim and was planning to since I am in the lynch lead, but I will wait if you guys want.
We only have 24 hours left in this Day, though. Whatever we do, we must do soon. I don’t want to wait to claim until too late.

should we just lynch Suburban, our unforced Vanilla claimant and probably most likely sleeper target last Night?
I think he would be a good vig target.
and not pedescribe?
Well, we do have two claimed vanillas (only two, right?) – lynching one and Vigging the other does make some sense.
I’m not in favor of that plan
I just finished typing out a rather long post about why I was against a mass claim, in part because I thought it was risky because of the Vig issue (already discussed), but mostly because I thought it would be no fun. But since it seems that idea is pretty much off the table, I’ll save it for another day.
I would suggest that instead of lynching me for the crime of “being the most likely sleeper target” we actually try to lynch someone for “being the most likely to be Scum”. On that note, at this point I will
vote septimus
Based on his comments about not lynching **Pleonast ** (claimed Vanilla) on Day 1. It’s not the strongest case, but both of the previous Days were so wonky that it feels like there’s still not a lot to go on at this point.
Fuck. Seriously?
Don’t you guys know me well enough to know that if a Mass Claim was plausible I would have, I don’t know, MENTIONED SOMETHING?!@!!!
No GOD NO.
You all missed the fucking point.
Vig Vanillas.
Attempt to Lynch Scum.
You need the vote record too. Remember that? Vote record? Find scum?
Jesus H. Christ.
I swear. Is it all in my head or something?
Please do. Magic bagging will get you nowhere.
Yes. Yes it is. I never could wrap my mind around fully open games.
i think story is going to be very upset with you sach when he checks in and sees what you have wrought.
This.
And Suburban’s case against septimus is persuasive to me, but I’m going to review it in more detail before voting to make sure it’s not just an OMGUS on my part.
So the Vig claims vanilla. The Scum will not kill the Vig, because the Scum will not target vanillas in such a situation.
I’m claiming.
I’m a Town Mason. I know the other’s identities, but we don’t chat elsewhere. I will not reveal them, nor will I suggest either way if they feel they should claim.
Other Masons, do as you please. Make your own mind’s up.
OK, that’s it, folks.
OK, I’m starting to wrap my head around all of this. So right now we have the following claims:
Plankton - Vanilla
sachertorte - Vanilla
pedescribe - Vanilla
Mental Guy - Cop
I think the following:
sachertorte is very probably Town. I’m not sure if I agree with his plan or not - I need to think it through a bit more - but it makes a lot of sense from a rational perspective. The problem is, proposing the plan and convincing others to follow it means that sachertorte dies toNight. If he is Scum, proposing this plan would be a hugely bad idea for him strategically.
Mental Guy is almost certainly the Cop.
@sach: What would be the downside - vis a vis your suggested strategy - to the Masons mass claiming, either toDay or toMorrow?
A. It would narrow the pool in which the Vigilante and Jailer hide, of course. But if the Scum decide to take shots into that pool, in hopes of taking out the Jailer and Vig, they risk wiping out more vanillas, which is decidedly not to their advantage. They will probably target a Mason or Cop instead, but:
A-1 - That will keep the Vig and Jailer alive, and the latter can play peek-a-boo with the Scum (and if successful even once more, earn us an extra mislynch).
I’ve done little in the way of Scum hunting toDay. I really wish I had more time, but I’m going to try to rectify that before the deadline.
Unvote Mahaloth in light of his claim.
Oooh. This I like. We should talk about this more. TALK. Please, no one act yet.
Well, one thing that could be done is our claimed mason could create a Vanilla Claim Order — that is an order by which we will claim “Vanilla” or “Not Vanilla” with the Vig claiming Vanilla for this exercise.
Create the list.
DON’T ACT ON IT yet!
I’d have to think about it more, but it really depends on whether we do the Vanilla mass claim or not.
If we do not, then Masons MUST NOT CLAIM. A single mason may or may not be protected by the jailer. Multiple public masons makes the job harder and it would be less likely that scum hit a vanilla Town by accident.
If we DO the Vanilla Claim exercise, then we are banking on scum leaving the vanilla pool alone. Therefore a Town power will DIE (but we have two protectors! hee!) My gut is to leave the powers unidentified so that scum have to guess, but I haven’t thought it completely through.
Out of these claims, Plankton’s is the most suspect. It was a ‘slip’ that seemed didn’t make any sense whatsoever.

I had been pondering this also, but had not had a chance to get on the computer to post this evening. I feel the masons claiming at this point benefits the town more than the scum, although I admit I am not always the best at thinking these things completely through.
And Suburban, if you think mass claiming is not a good strategy, by all means lay out your reasons, but I don’t think “it is not fun” is a valid reason. If you don’t find
coming up with strategies to defeat the other side fun, then I am not sure you really enjoy the game. Also, since you were the most likely recruitment target last Night and no one has claimed to receive the “arise” message, I think it is justifiable that someone would find you suspicious even with lack of any other evidence. While I am not voting you right now, I think a lynch of you would be fully justified.
I am going to go ahead and vote for Septimus. While rereading his posts, I just got the feeling that he was trying to force himself to look like a townie. His back and forth on Pleo seems like a scum wondering what to do with a teammate that was playing poorly. His defense of me by itself I probably would not find that suspicious, but I do get the feeling from his other posts that he may have knew I would flip town if lynched. My vote may change as I do more reading, but for now
Vote septimus
