So I ask again…if you think I’m scum, then you think I’m lying about having gotten the “Arise, Chicken” message?
I mean, obviously you must if you are voting for me, yes?
I had forgotten about Idle’s message. It would indicate that scum tried to recruit him; however scum are acting erratically in this game so I think all bets are off.
Pleonast got himself in hot water.
Pedescribe put himself in the target for the Vig.
Recruiting Suburban Plankton also seems odd to me. I suppose they were hoping we wouldn’t kill him because it would be “too easy,” but time and time again I think we know that “easy” is Town’s favorite! Honestly, that’s why I voted for pedescribe over Suburban. I didn’t think scum would be so silly as to target SP!
Late on the previous day when Suburban didn’t claim Doc, I assumed he was Vanilla Town as he claimed. I was expecting a scummy Suburban to claim Doc as he could wiggle that one in due to the sleeper mechanism triggering after his slip-claim. When he didn’t I assumed he was Town. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t care. Both Suburban and pedescribe were good candidates for lynching and vigging. But now that he turned up scum sleeper I’m wondering why he didn’t false claim. There was no reason not to. Oh, I guess since pedescribe would have been lynched, but still.
Anyway, my point is scum aren’t acting in their own best interests, so Idle Thoughts faking the message, while a bad move by scum, isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
I think Occam’s Razor would show the more simple explanation is: They tried to recruit me and failed (which, in fact, is really what the case is).
**After some discussion, and seeing only the slightest of possibilities for scum victory. I have decided to call the game. Scum had an uphill battle on this one, partly due to me putting too many town powers in there, this game obviously needs some tweaking.
I have spoken with the scum team, and they have agreed to concede. **
Town wins!

Yay! Go Town!
Heh. For the record, Guiri & Cookies were the last 2 scum. Good thing I got killed early because I never had a solid lead on anyone. Only good thing I did was to throw out a buncha posts about the jailer early and convince the scum that I was the jailer :).
Yep, well done. And Astral for his stuff about the Vig and not claiming. We managed to identify the 2 masons and Doc but the Vig hadn’t killed any lurking Townies so Peeker wasn’t even considered!
Hey, my scumdar wasn’t so broken after all–even if Cookies was actually apparently trying to get town cred by throwing SP under the bus. =P
Well that game was bizarre.
I think it is clear that there were too many confirmable roles (7 of 21). But other than that the balance didn’t seem to be too off.
It’s also hard to judge since the events were so very one-sided at the beginning. Killing off the scum roleblocker on Day One was huge. Especially with the Cop claimed. If only I couldn’t count to four.
woot woot the everloving woot.
Me neither. Not that I usually do anyway.
We just seemed to stumble into killing scum.
Yeah, nailing Pleo really did break the game wide open for Town; that was exceedingly fortunate.
And yay! Thanks for running a great game, Red!
Yes!
Congrats Town!
I hadn’t had a chance to be scum in a long time. Hadn’t played in an open set up in a long time either. Neither were nearly as fun as I remembered.
Thanks for the game, all.
I had set aside my frustration with Pleo some time ago, since I think a significant amount of his play (and how it was perceived) was tainted by his history in other games. A cautionary tale, I hope to people considering trying to somehow meta-strategize. I think it is toxic to the game in general, and was certainly toxic to the scum team this game.
I see that he feels comfortable saying ‘I told you so’ in the forbidden thread, which I find…interesting.
Nice going, everyone*
*Well, everyone who was on MY side, anyway.
But seriously. Good game, all. And thank you for hosting, Red.
I was expecting to attract attention today and just came in to say I couldn’t really blame anyone for voting for me but that’s a moot point now…
Ha! I will say again, nice work people. I clearly didn’t do much helpful towards the win, I am sorry. Although it was my first game, I am confident in saying that was a really weird game, right from the start. Still, I think I learnt a lot about explaining myself more clearly, and I have realised how hard it is to tell scum-play from just different play/communication styles.
Thanks Red, and well done to all the town powers / plan makers. Very impressive.
Hey, you didn’t do anything stupid that lead to you getting lynched early and hurting your team, so that puts you way ahead of some people…
