My eyes, once again, have changed. Not too drastically, but enough that new lenses are needed in order to read the chalkboard in my classes. The sheer selection at my eye doctors was staggering, and I finally settled on these. I have always been a fan of the “odder” glasses, infact the ones I am wearing right now are the classic plastic horn rim frames in a bright purple with rhinestones.
Which brings me to my question; Which do you prefer, the bold horn rims in classic black and/or bright colors, or the thin wire ones that are coming back into style? The store was split evenly between the two, and Ive seen both styles on the streets. I prefer the bolder frames now, but if you had asked me five years ago I would have been among the many praising the near-invisible wire frames.
I prefer the wire-frames. I want people to pay attention to my face, not my glasses.
Of course, I need to wear mine all the time (very near-sighted + sensitive, contacts-hating eyes = glasses forever :(). If I only needed them sometimes, I might be inclined to go with something funky.

I think it really depends on your face and hair. For example, I had a co-worker with a square face, strong prominent nose, and high cheekbones. She had a mass of wild curly hair. Her glasses were squarish with extremely thick black rims, and looked totally cool on her.
I, on the other hand, have thin fine hair, a button nose, and overall a less imposing look. I went for thin wire frames in a sort of cat’s-eye shape. I’ve had the same frames for five years now and don’t ever want to change.
I recently got new frames as well. Up until now I had always gone with very large lenses, so as to have proper vision over as much of my field of vision as possible, but the lady at the eye doctor’s office convinced me the difference was insignificant, and that smaller frames would look much better. Soooo, I got these.
Go for both! Get something fun and funky but also lightweight that shows your face. There’s nothing better than glasses so light that you can barely tell you’re wearing them!
Click on the rimless version. They’re hard to find, but totally worth the effort! The version they show has pretty dull colors, but I have some fun blue ones! They come in just about every color imaginable. They also have about 10 different shapes for the lenses. You can pick the one that perfectly fits your face shape (and each part of the glasses is custom fit to you).
I now wear contact lenses, but have a pair of glasses as well. I get the wire framed ones. The less noticeable my glasses are, the happier I am. It was a different story when I was a child though. I loved the ones with bright colours then.
I look good in glasses, so I prefer funky ones. I don’t like rimless glasses on me, they just dont’ look right, though my dad has a pair that looks nice. If I had more money, I’d probaby have funkier ones for play (I saw some green cat’s eye frames the other day) and some nicer wire-rimmed ones for work.
Since I can only afford one pair right now, my glasses are some nice but semi-funky tortoiseshell frames. I’d prefer funkier, but I can’t wear something like that to work.
I think it depends on your face shape and features. I love the chunky, trendy frames but I have a small face and delicate features - they just look odd on me as they dominate my face way too much. So I wear tiny, oval frames in a copper-coloured wire. They look quite pretty.
I prefer the thin, stylish ones. The ones I have now are a silver wire frame on top, and the bottom half has no frame around it. Rather stylish and it makes the glasses seem not nearly as obvious sitting there on my face.
My face was made for glasses. My favorite pair are black, square and made of (I think) acetate. [sub]That doesn’t sound right, does it?[/sub] They rock.
As for the glasses in the OP’s link; I LOVE them. I want them now.
I love the thick black funky frames, but they just don’t look good on me. They always end up looking too wide for my face.
When I was a teenager I still had to get kid’s glasses, as my face was so small. I’ve gained weight since which made my face fill out a bit (it’s a good thing, my face was really thin and long) but most glasses still look a bit too wide.
I love wearing glasses. If they weren’t so expensive, I’d have a whole bunch of pairs.
The ones I have right now are fairly chunky, in a sort of stripey burgundy color. As far as I’m concerned, if I’m going to wear glasses, I’m going to wear awesome ones. And I like emo-style clothes anyway.

Judging from the posts, my face must be kinda odd. I look really good with the thick frames, while the thin ones really make my face look too narrow and long. I seem to need the thick lines to help balance my face. Anyways, glasses help make my eyes look bigger, and ANYTHING that makes them look bigger/stand out is wonderful in my book!
I prefer oval wire rims. I have what I like to think of as Victorian features – pale skin, little nose, oval face – and rectangular frames just don’t work. Adult frames are also too large, so I wear children’s frames. Chunky, rectangular or cats-eye frames are the worst of both worlds: they meet up with my eyebrows, which are thick and dark, and it just looks like I have a gigantic eyebrow. Dowdy, dowdy, dowdy.
Mine are black geek-chic awesomeness! I first got glasses a couple of years ago and started out with thin wire frames that dissapeared on my face, but as I got more used to the idea of wearing glasses I got up the nerve to wear a bold pair. I love them, they are black on the front and yellow on the inside (the area that faces the face) with a thin white line in between that you can see when you look at me in profile. If anything, I’d go for a bolder pair next time. I have strong, kind of harsh features so it works for me.
