Glee: 2.14 "Blame It on the Alcohol" (open spoilers)

I’m sure Kurt would have copped a feel or two. “Oh sorry, used to sleeping alone and my hand always goes there” is easy enough an out if caught.

“I thought it was mine.”

And one day it will be… oh, it will be mine! Hoowha-hahahahhahahahaha!

I have been wondering lately if Kurt has been making wishes on an ironic genie’s lamp, a monkey’s paw, or perhaps a grilled cheese sandwich bearing the image of a monkey’s paw.

KURT: Okay, I’ve accepted that neither Finn nor Sam are secretly gay. It’s a lost cause, time to move on. But I’ve kind of got this thing for football players, so couldn’t just ONE of them be gay?

KURT: Wow, that worked out really, horrifically badly. I am totally over this football player thing, and definitely do not need to get involved with a closet case. I want to meet a cute, nice, age-appropriate, and openly gay guy who likes singing and also likes me.

:frowning:
**
KURT:** Getting better, but I see I failed to be specific enough. It’s nice to have a gay FRIEND, but that’s not really what I’m after here. Let me spell it out for you: I want to sleep with Blaine.

:smack:

**KURT: **All right, I’m back, and I’ve been doing a little research on the Internet. Try to misunderstand THIS, you…wait, what do you mean that was three wishes already?

There was a picture of them with Rachel in the first episode.

See, I was born out of love. My two dads screened potential surrogates based on beauty and IQ. Then they mixed their sperm together and used a turkey baster. To this day we don’t know which one is my real dad, which I think is pretty amazing.

If you google glee Rachel dads, you can see the picture that was used and get the joke here - one is white and stereotypically Jewish looking, the other is black. Why Rachel wouldn’t introduce her dads to Kurt to help him along in his gayosity is one of the major plot holes of the show, in my opinion.

I get the impression she did, but it was offscreen. I agree that they need to show up onscreen. Weren’t Mercedes & Kurt having a sleepover at Rachel’s house just a few episodes ago?

I’ve been wondering about this for weeks, and was pleased to see it mentioned in the AV Club review of this episode. If Kurt is looking for realistic gay role models, why not turn to his friend’s apparently happy and successful gay parents? The AV Club reviewer says there’s no reason not to have this happen “other than the fact that the show doesn’t want to introduce them as characters when it could inevitably get two celebrities to cameo as them in the inevitable graduation episode”.

That did look like Rachel’s bedroom, so Kurt has presumably met her dads even if they’ve never had any kind of “It gets better” conversation. And in fairness I can think of several realistic reasons why Rachel’s dads wouldn’t want to get into any kind of mentoring relationship with Kurt – it might come across as ignoring Rachel (Kurt himself felt neglected when his dad first started doing “guy stuff” with Finn), undermining Burt’s parenting, or even seem pervy. But if Rachel’s parents aren’t going to appear as characters it would be nice to at least see Rachel tell Kurt something like “My dads always said high school was rough for them too and that college was much better.”

I thought I’d read that Darren Criss- the actor who plays Blaine- was gay in real life. Apparently not.
