Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally will not be political (& other Tea Party nonsense)

I think as long as they’re in the right general area, they’ll be able to figure out where the action is. Those driving in circles around Lincoln, Nebraska are on their own.

Then Beck needs to. . . fake it harder. Way harder. He’s basically ruining Mormons for me.

Wont someone think about my feelings here?:frowning:

I learned some time ago that he’s a Moron.

Google Maps absolutely has the right to fuck up their maps if they wish to. Of course, that would get them some deserved and well-earned criticism, as well as make the product less reliable and less likely to be used, and that would be the price they pay.

There was a Mormon land where Beck should get lost into.

Fear us, worm. We don’t know your address, but all we need is your coordinates.

Personally I think it was the League of Nations, the first serious attempt at a “New World Order”. It was in many ways Wilson’s baby, even though IIRC the Senate refuse to ratify the treaty.

Woodrow Wilson was also a racist himself, IIRC. (I prefer good ol’ Teddy Roosevelt. That guy was a total BAMF. He once gave a speech right after being shot – with the bullet STILL in his rib cage. Now that’s badass.)

Even by the standards of his own time. He introduced segregation to the Navy, and held a special screening of Birth of a Nation at the White House.

I love Teddy’s image of bravado and vitality, representing a young nation coming of age. But Teddy was a racist in ways that would make an Aryan Nation skinhead blush. He believed that the “Teutonic race” was a scientific fact, and destined to rule the world, and that America was the result and the extension of that destiny. He believed that Teutonic belligerance and aggression was a positive trait, it was why white people triumphed over the weak and passive lesser races.

Teddy was the genius who figured out that if you use a professional photographer, a painted backdrop and a buckskin costume, you could convince people that you were a manly man, a rough rider from the mountains, instead of an asthma-afflicted mamma’s boy from the pampered part of New York.

In Beck’s mind that would be one of his few redeeming qualities.

Glenn Beck compares ABC report to Nazi propaganda

Enough, Glenn, please, I’m drowning in honor over here.

Not that honor! his other honor!

(oglaf reference)

Pointless trivia : most commercial maps are borked in some slight, unimportant way as a copyright measure. If your map features the town of Made-Upia or Nonesuch Street which I put on mine, I can prove you copy/pasted. I’d be surprised if Google Maps was any different.

And why should he not screen it? It happens to be one of the greatest movies ever made, whatever you think of the director’s viewpoint.

I like how Beck’s rally has morphed over time. First it was for his book (“The Plan”) release, then he realized it was the MLK date so it became a civil rights rally, then it became a support the troops rally, then a cmbo civil rights/troop support with politicians and Brietbart, but now it’s supposedly not political and I think Brietbart was dropped. I can hardly tell what the rally is for, exept that is is just a Beck love-fest. Woodbeck! Beckstock!

Excellent Daily Show segment on the “Monsters of Beck 2010” show.

It has morphed yet again, into a revival meeting:

Beckapalooza!

Altabeck.

I didn’t know the Hell’s Angels were into teabagging.
