Glitch report: still getting phantom What_Exit posts when creating threads

After starting a new thread, I’ll get a “phantom” response from What_Exit. I say “phantom” because all it contains is a duplicate of my OP.

I assume this is old news (I reported the same problem some time ago); just thought I’d point it out again.

Can you point to a thread this happened in?

Are you sure you’re not just getting a notification that I tagged the thread?
That is the likeliest answer.

If it is a thread in The Café or The Game Room or about the Ukraine Invasion, that is almost surely the cause.

For instance, the last thread you started:

I tagged as music. That probably generated the message you got.

Hey, I saw you responding to this and I thought the same thing was going to happen. Interesting that it didn’t. It’s happened a few times in the past, but the reason for my post was the thread in Café Society that I started on a Robert Plant interview. There’s still an indication of your reply, and, when I click on it, it’s just my post on the right and left sides of the screen.

I mentioned this some time back and it was acknowledged that it was a glitch that was under study. I can look for that post if you like.

ETA: Just saw your response. Well, yeah, I guess that’s what’s causing it. It’s not something that annoys me or anything.

ETA2: Ah, I’ve just noticed that the phantom message includes a message in green up top: “tags changed.” Are we supposed to tag our own posts?

I believe the developers would say it is a feature and not a bug.

I would prefer it didn’t happen or that we could control it. But on the scale of things, pretty minor.

Yeah, not a big deal for me. Thanks for the information.
