Global Doper Kid Mail/Postcard Exchange

PHEW!
That makes me feel MUCH better, will send them out next week

** dbygawdcapn** you are “The Captain” then? Thank you so much! My children enjoyed receiving Their Very Own Mail and putting together the puzzle-postcard! And we had a little lesson in the history of the Jackson Administration (or as much history as I could remember!)

Thanks again, and to Shibb too!

FCM … Thanks a bundle for the pic of Shamu. My Smiley Bear was a Growly Bear until he saw his card!

I will get some out this week before we go on vacation… then probly some more after we come home.

My batch is in the mail.

Shibboleth , I can’t thank you enough for starting this!

Thanks to FCM, dbygawdcapn and ?lainaf? (I’m not sure, but I’m guessing Beale Street was from you. I don’t have your screen name and I don’t want to throw your real name up here).

Looks like I have been entirely slack. Shibb I’m sending an email volunteering to send some postcards. I remember how exciting it was to get mail addressed to me when I was a kid. I wanna do my part to pass that on.

I was going to say “I’ve been swamped,” but right after the last post that would be really tacky.

I’ve been busy.

I’m going to Chattanooga in a week, I’ll send a batch from there, then others from Philly later.

Dunno about tacky twickster but definately heartbreaking to Homebrew
I sent off two cards this afternoon… TheLoadedDog I have one for your pup buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut being the wannabee blonde that I am I forgot it was going overseas. So I didnt take enough postage to get it beyond San Francisco! :smack:

I promise to go there tomorrow and rectify this oversight…

I will pick up some postcard while I am in Washington State next week and get them out when I return home…

I’ve got the postcatds but I’m stuck for what to write on them other than G’Day from Australia.

Leechbabe, Tell Josiah you saw a minmi last week…

that’ll freak the little dinosaur expert right out!
wait on second thought maybe you’d better not… he’ll be dragging me down there on the next plane!
You HAVE a credit card Mom!

Thanks for the morning giggle y’all!

I dropped the first batch of 5 postcards in the mail today. I’m using the Italian post, so they could take 2-3 weeks (or not show up at all) so keep me updated. I’ll eventually get to everyone on the list as I have it, once I find some more cards I like!

Oh yay! Thanks for the postcards, everyone. My daughter can hardly wait for the mailman to get here every morning. She’s gotten three already all addressed to HER which pleases her immensely.
She was especially intrigued with the one from the mysterious “CAPTAIN”. She talked about that one all day long.

Thanks Mamapotamus! Smiley Bear got quite a few giggles off of your name… there is one on its way for your lilpotamus.

Thanks also to Lainaf? He was pleased to know that someone from “far away” had come to Utah.

The LoadedDog dont ask… your pups card has been held up. I will write a LONG story about why… it will go off when we return from vacation.

I am going to be watching for postcards while in Washington…

Krisfer, no sweat. Your delay makes me feel a little less guilty about not having sent mine off yet. Shib, I haven’t received my names yet, mate. Could you please resend them?

“The Captain”, thanks! Amazing how a postcard from overseas can hit the spot with a little kid. Cool stuff.

You’re welcome.

I just finished sending off a second round of cards this morning. I have done a little travelling so this time I tried to keep a different countries of the world theme going. I’m sorry about the short notes and silly jokes, but I don’t have a lot of experience corresponding with young 'uns.

Greywolf73, tell your daughter that “The Captain” is more of a goofball than mysterious.

I’ve sent off some more this morning from two of our vacation stops. I’ll get the last of them out this weekend.

This has been a lot of fun!

Dropped them in a mailbox today, including 2 to Australia. I really would appreciate a note in this thread or via email when they arrive, as I’m trying to gage the Italian post and I’d like some idea of how long things take. Not everyone, just if you think of it.

Just put the last of mine in outgoing mail - they’ll be on their merry ways tomorrow. I’ve sent a variety from St. Michaels, Annapolis, Baltimore, and some generic Chesapeake Bay. They’re all very vacationy! Hope all the kids enjoy them!

Thanks again to you all!

melandry, your card from Rome found its way to Utah this morning, July 9. Siah bear was very excited as he already knew what the colesseum was used for in Roman Times. Or at least in Scooby Doo and the Cyber Chase.

FCM, We have added the floating museum to our list of must-see-before-we-dies things!

Captain, that was a silly pun. We both giggled over it.

And whoever it was that sent the Chicago skyline at dusk, I dont want to post your real name, that is a beautiful card. I am thinking of stealing it for a bookmark!

David has loved all the cards he received and wanted me to send a big thank you to everyone! He is currently papering his room with them
