(Old) Gobble ‘Til You Wobble, Or Not In The MMP

Wifey, RN’s Nursemobile (2010 RAV4) is making a noise. ‘Wooooooo!’ It gets louder as the engine revs, and quieter when it idles more slowly. I tried to find out where it’s coming from the top of the engine block, but I didn’t take off the plastic shield. I suppose it could be her alternator. There are no warning lights displaying on her dash. She has an appointment to have it looked at next Tuesday, and she’s using my old Prius.

My wife said that she was quoted $1,500 for a new thermostat and some hoses. Just got a text from her. ‘$2000+ I knew it was the alternator ’
