That is all.
Rats. sigh
Congrats.
And I am always disappointed. The first baseball game I ever saw was the Expos vs the Mets, the last time I went to a game was in Shea. ::sigh:: Oh, well.
Huh? You mean it’s over? Already? Wow. Gosh. And I missed it all. Darn. Oh Gee. How will I live? I am heartbroken.
Not.
WOOOOOOO!!!
New York Yankees!!
2000 World Champions!!
Three-peat!!!
Four championships in five years!!
26 overall championships!!
The best dynasty in the history of all professional sports!
…and even better than all of that…
WE ARE THE KINGS OF NEW YORK CITY!!!
I am soooo happy!!!

Today,
I consider myself
The luckiest fan
On the face of the Earth
Thank You, NY Yankees
And for the Mets…The most worthy adversary I’ve ever seen this team play. They put up a good fight, but I’m glad we came out on top!!!
YANKEES ROCK!!!
The Greatest Team EVER!!!
I’m just pissed that I didn’t get to see it on television, since I’m at work. Although there is a certain old-time charm to listening to the Yankees win the 'Series on the radio (even if the radio is streaming over the internet).
What an impressive effing team. They make me proud to be a fan.
woo hoo…yea…the Yankees win…wow…gee, that’s just wonderful…yipee…oh, boy, im so excited…
Y’know, Satan, you’re a fine fellow and a good friend. The only thing wrong with you is that YOU’RE A GODDAMN YANKEES FAN! Fine, 26 titles, 3-peat, yada yada yada. Not bad for a team that STARTED IN BALTIMORE! Being an excited Yankee fan right now is kinda like being the winning whore at a deep throat competition. Wake up the next morning, and you’re still a whore.
Seriously, I hope you and Libby enjoy the victory. You’re both aces and I’m glad you’re happy. But I’ll never do anything but hate the Yankees.
Congrats to the Yankees, once and forever champions. Kudos to the Mets too, for a gritty performance in every game.
Hey, according to more than a few people, the Yankees were the underdog. The word on the street was the Mets want it more, the Yanks lost their touch, the magic years are over, and my favorite: who let the Mets out?. Didn’t some writer from the Post predict the Yanks would be ousted by the A’s in three games?
I remember sometime in the eighties, smack dab in the lean years for Yankee fans, my brother was ten or so. He got really upset over a losing streak and said “just once in my life I want to see The Yanks win a World Series.” Now he’s in the some of the best years of his life watching the Yankee organization in some of the best years of its life. By suffering thru the tougher times, he was able to observe the evolution of a dynasty.
There are people who will always hate the Yankees. There are people who will always hate New York.
I invite them to get bent.
New York rules.
Go Yanks.
Hey, Manhattan:
Want to NOT send me the newspapers again this year?

:d&r:
This must have been some final game, because the BBC, not big on baseball at all really, gives it third spot on their news site. Quite a privilege;)
Here’s a suggestion for this…

All I can say is…
AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
At least a position player got MVP.
Go Dodgers in 2001!!!

[sub]God Damn Yankees…[/sub]
World Champions? Did they beat any Cuban or Japanese teams? Not to mention the fearsome Dutch Baseball Team?
North American Champions would be more accurate, of course.
I’m sorry, I meant Yankees in 5.
Seriously, folks, I’m bummed, but still proud of the Mets. They just beat themselves, that’s all. And that’s the saddest thing to me. They coulda at least split the first 2, but they did themselves in. Still, the games were all low-scoring close ones, and that’s an indication of the caliber of play on both sides. I hate seeing 6-run margins of victory.
Well, wait till next year.
One Yankee joke? Please?
I thought for sure Clemens would win the MVP. What? You mean MVP doesn’t stand for Most Violent Player?
OK, I got it out of my system.
Well, thanks for being gracious winners, at least, guys. Congratulations to the Highlanders on their victory over the Knickerbockers in the Woild Serious.
Satan, too funny!
Here we are on Friday morning, the day after the night that the best team in baseball received its trophy.
The city hasn’t burned, but then we knew it wouldn’t. How can a city with both the Yanks and the Mets behave with anything but tact and grace?
I was wondering, does anybody know or have a link to the T.V. ratings?
