Whoopie Goldburg gets to be God in the Muppet Christmas movie.
Morgan Freeman is God in Bruce Almighty.
Alanis Morissette is God (along with Bud Cort, sorta) in Dogma.
George Burns was God a few times.
God as a booming voice and a beam of light in - The Simpsons
(Notable Simpsons God quotes -
“LISA GIVE BART YOUR DESSERT!!..THAT’S GOING TO GO RIGHT TO MY FIVE THIGHS”
“…I’M TOO OLD AND TOO RICH FOR THIS CRAP”
"WELL…UM…I NEVER THOUGHT THE TWO OF YOU WOULD ACTUALLY MEET (to Lisa of Arc and Groundskeeper Wille as an English soldier) )
IIRC, God is only depicted from the beard down in “The Simpsons.” He also has five fingers to a hand in at least one appearance, but I’m not sure if this is consistent.
Was Richardo Montalbon as Mr. Roarke God in Fantasy Island? I mean they never had him say “Hello. I am God.” But there was that episode where Roddy McDowell (I think) showed up and went all evil with the red lights and little horns on his head and he said that Mr. Roarke was his “enemy” or something. But that could just mean that Roarke was a big time angel because they never said Roddy was the Ultimate Evil. Unless they did. I don’t remember it all that well.
So maybe Mr. Roarke was God, and by extention Richardo Montalbon. Or not.
Rex Ingram starred as you-know-who[his actual title was “de Lawd”] in the movie “The Green Pastures”. It was an all black cast, and showed what life would be like in Heaven, as well as fleshing out a few of the more recognizable Bible stories.
Oh, the South Park “God” is always depicted as a perfectly nice fellow! It just happens that, in his “natural” form, he happens to like eating flies. (No joke.)
He’s also a Buddhist, apparently. But he only lets Mormons into Heaven.
Busy, busy character actor Bruce McGill, best known as “D-Day” from “Animal House” played “*God” (or “Fate” or “Whatever”) in the series finale of “Quantum Leap.” He also played “Weird Ernie” in the QL pilot.
