In the midst of the fighting and yelling and sobbing, my grandmother started setting the table and bringing the food in from the kitchen. As things continued to escalate, my dad, in just a fit of frustration, did the only thing he could think of to do to make Donald stop: He picked up what must have been the quite massive bowl of mashed potatoes that my grandmother had just put on the table and he dumped it on Donald’s head. Robert immediately went quiet and Donald was speechless.
And, probably worst of all for him, everybody, except Donald, of course, started laughing. They were laughing their heads off, and Donald knew they were laughing at him. It may have been the first time, at least consciously, that Donald felt that awful feeling of humiliation, and there was nothing he could do about it. He couldn’t laugh it off because, even then, he wasn’t capable of laughing at himself. I think it some ways, this is the source of his grievance, the source of his always feeling that everything is against him and life is completely unfair—which sounds absurd because among other things, it’s completely untrue.
I genuinely don’t know how my mental health can take another 2.5 years of this embarrassing, not-funny-at-all, cringe, running-out-of-adjectives-to-describe presidency. Every month, bad things happen that would normally take a year for a society to recover from.
The lack of a reliable income source is the only thing that’s keeping me from exercising my double citizenship and moving abroad. But one can’t escape it even then.

I give Trump and his ilk very little of my attention. I’ll follow the news things like the Iran war, because that’s a world event. But as for the everyday nonsense, social media posts and vanity projects… Mokusatsu. I take no notice of this because it’s beneath me. It’s beneath all of us.
The only proper response to people like this is either pointing and laughing or mokusatsu. Sometimes the former is appropriate, but I mostly choose not to give them any of my attention or thought.
If I were an elected American, I would put forward a bill which proposed :
- the Lincoln Memorial be renamed the Donald J. Trump memorial
- the country itself be renamed ‘The United States of Donald J. Trump’s America’
and list Trump’s achievements such as:
- ending the Ukraine war in a day
- using Tariffs to transform the economy
- refusing to use his position to make money for himself
There are aspects of Trump and his presidency that would be quite funny if they were fictional, and didn’t have deleterious real-world effects.

Here’s the scenario I’m hoping for: The Orange Asshole gets even more senile and the cabinet realizes they’re going to need to invoke the 25th Amendment because Trump refuses to resign. Trump goes apeshit and calls in his militia, the proud boys and J6 losers. He invites them into the White House: hilarity and mayhem ensues

I fully sympathize with your OP. The opening of the Obama Presidential Center was a sober reminder of saner times when America actually had a real president, one who was trying to build the country up instead of destroying it and enriching himself.
Much of what the Orange Menace is doing and the damage he’s causing is literally beyond belief. I think it’s a combination of not giving a shit any more and worsening dementia. Most of his Cabinet consists of incompetent bigots so useless that they could only have been found by a determined search for the very worst and clownishly unqualified candidates.
