Why is such a fun and addictive message board so slow and fucking buggy??? There is nothing that pisses me off more than trying again and again and again to try and load a fucking thread and the browser just plods along but never fucking loads a goddamn fucking thing!!! ARGHHHH!!!

Funny. I don’t have any trouble with speed (apart from normal 'net inconsistency) or bugs. What issues in particular are pissing you off, O Shining Primate?
It seems to bog down my PC at work and at home quite often, and almost ALWAYS when I see a thread that I have just got to follow…ugh it makes me so damn mad.

I’ve never found any major problems either. In fact this is probably one of the faster sites I visit. Could it be your end of things?
I have the same problem. Usually it’s during peak traffic times(mid to late afternoon). When I log on first thing in the morning, there’s no problem.
I have to agree that it’s frustrating.
I’ve experienced the same problems, usually when I’m on during luch (about noon) on my cable connection at home, and when I’m on my school’s T1 between 1:00 and 2:00 CST. I’ll click on a link, go to the bathroom, come back, and maybe, just maybe the thread will be loaded by then.
It sucks, but hey this isn’t cnn.com or altavista. I’m sure the Chicago Reader doesn’t have the money to implement a T3 connection just to soothe the cries of whiny people with crappy handles. :rolleyes:
If you confine your posting to off-peak times (or not at all, in the monkeylucifer’s case), you will surely have a more pleasurable experience.
Yeah, I’m a lurker…so sue me :rolleyes: BUT, I’m trying to be more of a poster. And BTW, don’t get me wrong, I love the site, it’s certainly one of my favorites.
That comment had nothing to do with how much you lurk. It was a (admittedly poorly worded) hope that you would stop posting entirely. Of course I base this all on the OP (which different people have already started 16 billion threads on in the past), since it was the only post of yours I’ve ever seen.
