It was ham, quiche and potatos. It was meh, weird having breakfast food. If they served lasagna every day…
I carry a small case of these around and them as needed as well as brushing a couple of times a day. The difference has been noticed by my hygienist.
Same in central AZ. The snowbirds would be running around in shorts and sandals while us locals were wearing heavy jackets to ward off the 70F cold.

So besides PT, nothing much happened here today. Hubs bought some cleaner for the robot mopper and tried it out this morning.
Harry’s raven was doing battle with a hawk today and ran it off in short order. We think the hawk wanted a nice chicken dinner and was scoping the cage out. Raven got extra hot dogs on his dinner tray tonight.
Its been in the low 80s, but we’ve gotten a good amount of rain. I think the flooding upstate is over, but the river is still very brown and funning fast.
Don’t know why there is cake by my name. It’s not my birthday and it appears I joined June 20, 2020. Oh well.

I think Nelson would hit it off with Mauser and Ollie. His running buddies at the dog park were generally dachshunds or mixed. We used to call them the Low Rider Crew.

When I read the temps from some of y’all, I’m thinking fall or winter in Texas or sometimes, even Tennessee. In Tennessee, one could always tell the transplants from up north because they were in shirt sleeves when the rest of us were all bundled up.

When the delivery driver brought my space balls to the door, Nelson went nuts barking at him. He stepped back and asked if he bit. I told him that his bark was much, much worse than his bite. Then I gave the driver a bottle of water. Lil dude thinks he’s a Rottweiler (I haven’t told him differently).
I know at least one will be yellow, and I think she’s got a peach and dark, dark purple. She labeled them all - masking tape on the leaves - so I’ll know what I’m getting.
That’s part of the problem - swallowing is very painful. He’s getting a feeding tube so with luck that’ll keep him from wasting away before the surgery date.
We have a double door leading to the back yard. Ain’t no way we’d have tried to get them down a flight of stairs, even if they’d have fit, which I’m pretty sure they won’t. And we may not take them down after all. We may just get 2 tons (2 pallets) so there will be room to leave them in the garage. Since we’ll be gone about 3 weeks in Jan/Feb, that’s 21 bags that won’t get burned - almost half a ton. (50 bags to a ton.) Plus we got our heating oil filled before it got too stoopit expensive. So depending on how much they cost, we may go with just 2 tons.
I have to brush my teeth as soon as I wake up - I can’t stand having mouth grunge. Once my mouth is minty fresh, I can start my day!
One year in college, we went thru a month of sub-zero (°F) temps so once the thermometer ventured into the positive range, hats came off and coats were open.
Time to find something on TV and crochet some more. I finished the second blanket yesterday and found a little-used pattern for #3. So, back at it!
Howdy Y’all! It was rainy off and on until around threeish when the sun came to visit for a bit. We were very happy to stay inside and dry. Looks like the rain will hold off a day or two so maybe I can make mowage happen. Yahd needs it badly. We really should look into a lawn service, or move to a place with no yahd. Sup was easy and good. I found a slab of already smoked ribs in da freezer, so that N.O.T. sallit, baked beans and garlic bread will be sup tomorrow.

I ran to Teeter and Aldi. Well, I tried to, but Carmen violently heaved herself 3 miles north into the Lynnwood Grill parking lot, so I had lunch first(pork belly BLT). I also had an Back That Razz Up raspberry wheat, because whole grains and fruit are healthy for you. I’ve been alternating between YouTubing, napping, and giving Spot attention. Dinner tonight is bacon cheeseburgers, fries, and corn on the cob. With an Old Fashioned.

My next trip is to Spain. I’m looking forward to walking and hope the wildfires will have settled by then. Relatives in Eastern Washington were evacuated but are now home. We expect more smoke here tomorrow, so I’ll close up the house and turn on the air filters before we go to sleep.
My novel has received two more recognitions, so I’m pretty happy for that!
My, we’ve been a chatty bunch today. between shopping, dentist, gym, and soccer I have been relatively active all day and finished with a Whataburger as I had a gift card collecting dust here. No more calories planned and will trundle off to bed here in a bit…but first I have about 35 messages to wade through…
Mollie, happy game-playing. Ended up with Fuji apples, they provide the most apple with the taste I want. Need to try Gala’s again.

Wet one, stepped on the scale at the gym after working out hard every day last week…and it showed I gained 1.5lbs… I know its because of the amount of food I eat (even if it has low calories) but cutting back on food is…hard. At least the bulk I have is in pretty good cardio shape.
Coppertone, pretty good meal, at our ages breakfast/lunch/dinner foods are more of a suggestion that a rule, don’t you think?
JtC, I have ample brushes and toothpaste, it’s just since I retired I got out of the habit of going into the bathroom upon awakening and doing the washup, shave and brushing necessary for the cubicle farm. These days it’s get up, pee, and head to the kitchen or computer…just need to reset the routine. And hooray for Harry’s chicken-protector.
red, I had a dachshund when I was a child, Tina used to bark so loud and aggressively that meter readers (it was that long ago) and other callers wouldn’t come into the house until we put her in one of the back rooms.

Lady SCAdian and I had scrambled eggs and sausage hash for supper tonight.
A bit of hot weather starts in earnest tomorrow, but it was already hotter than I like today. Started out promising enough at 52Ferrets and stayed cool all morning, but by 11-ish, the thermometer began to climb. We topped out at 85F and are currently at 75F. The highs for the next 3 days look especially miserable, promising 100F or near it.
I agree, doggio, happy vacation to you! I know you’ll make the most of it! I have no vacations planned and probably won’t for some time. The parentals need whatever time I can manage to get away from the “farm.”
I hope the meeting went well today, BooFae, and TM wasn’t too awful.

My late mother-in-law used to put butter on her cats’ paws whenever they moved somewhere new, and she swore it enabled the cats to find their way home.
I didn’t have the heart to tell her about the time when one of my cats escaped from our vehicle when we stopped in Las Vegas for one night on our way to a new home in California. We hunted for that cat all night and barely visited with the relatives we’d stopped to see. Thought he was gone for good. But no; there he was, waiting for us to open the door the next morning. Little fucker.
Good luck with med adjustments, Sticky. Maybe there are some better options for you now – I do hope so. Enjoy the time with your friends, and good job on telling the neighbors to not mow anymore. It had to be done. 
Yankers, your children sound amazing and I’m glad they’re safe! Glad you enjoyed the camping and fishing with your pupper. I used to love to camp and did it a lot, until we moved to the woods. Now, it would just seem a like less comfortable option than staying home.

Cookie, yes, do get those appointments made. As I know you know, things can change fast when we get older. My own PCP keeps me on a 6-month tether for blood work, though that’s mostly due to hypothyroidism. Glad Sadie is ok except for eye drops!
Swampy, I think you needed some serious RDOS time after all the vergering, cooking and serving you’ve been doing! And I agree with you and Yanker’s wife on the camping these days, too. I like my bed! My last camping trip was with my husband in Glacier National Park in July of 2002. We had a dandy time until my monthlies showed up. Then I couldn’t stop thinking about Grizzly bears, so we cut our trip a day short and continued on our way home. I can probably let the old camping gear go now…

When I made banana bread or brownies for us both, I would divide the pan, pour half the batter in one side sans nuts, add the nuts, then pour the batter in the other side. Everyone got what they wanted. I’m not a barbarian. Much.

Ollie would love to have a runaround buddy like Nelson! His only dog pal is Iris, and Iris is like his dignified grandmother. She doesn’t do “play,” despite Ollie’s best efforts to engage her. Their most lively interactions are the epic pissing contests. Which is funny to watch, but doesn’t involve too much in the way of play.
I’m always surprised when delivery folks ask if Ollie bites, too. He doesn’t, but I guess a lot of dachshunds have that reputation. He barks like he’s possessed at anything, though. This morning when he started in with a frenzy of barking, I assumed it was over the stupid household squirrel and I let him out. I should’ve looked a little closer. It was 2 momma turkeys with their half-grown poults, totaling about 15 all told. It could have gotten ugly. Fortunately, for once in his idiot life, he came when I called him and disaster was averted.

The wildfire smoke is here, too, but it’s nothing compared to what others are enduring. Made for a pretty sunset tonight, best I could tell through the trees. There are fires all around Oregon, but not where I am. I hope it stays that way. Not that I wish fires on anyone else, of course, but since they’re not here, that’s on the plus side.
I worked on things today that I tend to put off, like tackling so-called customer service to facilitate a new log-in for a credit card I rarely use when I discovered my old log-in credentials didn’t work, renewing prescriptions and such-like. Mostly I stayed out of the heat.
For the evenings, I’m stuck into a new Walter Presents series on PBS called Murder in the Mountains. It’s a German production and since I’m not learning German, it’s kind of useless. But the stories are tame, it’s filmed in Austria so the scenery is gorgeous, it’s easy to figure out the bad guys and there is cute interplay between the main characters. It keeps me out of the bars.

Yesterday turned out to be ok, really. The meeting was good and productive, it will be a while before the proposed changes are shared with the rest of the team so TM will be living in blissful ignorance for a bit longer before the complete shock to her system.
I had a notification that yesterday’s spin class was cancelled so I went to the gym earlier than I’d planned and did a pretty good back and shoulder session. I saw my gym friend who I’ve not seen for a couple of weeks, turns out she’s had a bad chest infection and is only just recovered enough to do some exercise. Should see her at kettlebells tonight though.
After the gym, I went home and cooled off, then gathered up the recyclables and put them all in the biiiig bin before hauling it to the kerb for today’s collection. The binmen and bin and gone by the time I woke up so I’ve been out and hauled the biiiiig bin back to where it lives. My inboxes are quiet, and I have a short team meeting this afternoon to look forward to. 'im indoors is off to his gym later and should be returning with yummy Indian food for lunch. Happy days!

Certainly was lots said here yesterday! I had a good day hanging with my friends and I also had time to spend with a cousin who I’ve trying to get together with as well. She, by the way, had the cutest little dog who was about the same size, age, and temperament as Annie.
Best news of the day: my bloodwork showed that my numbers improved, so for now lithium and I can remain friends!!!
Today I need to attempt to clean this house which looks like a tornado ran through it. Annie will supervise and judge my work. I got a call from my mom’s doctor yesterday and she will be released this week, just not sure what day yet. Oh, and MusicMan had a good day at orientation yesterday and his two boys who live in the city where it was being held came and joined him for dinner!
Pretty sure it was Seinfeld who said: “Camping is just staying in the woods with substandard appliances.”
Look, I tried OK? This weather wizardry is harder than it looks…
I woke to rain here, lots of it. I’ve been leaving a water dish out for the birds while it’s been dry- the dish was empty last night, it’s full this morning. It was impressively grey and wet when I woke up.. in fact I did the student thing and stayed in bed an extra hour because it was so uninviting out there. I am getting on with it though, just taking a lunch break. I finally have the last dataset I’ve been waiting for, so I’ve spent the morning doing analysis rather’n writing, but the next step should just be needing leaving to it all afternoon, so I’ll be back to the creative lying interpretation of the results shortly.
I was planning on walking up to the post office because I’m out of stamps and I need to post a form, but it’s still drizzly with proper rain patches around and it is supposed to clear up more later, so maybe I’ll leave it for now.
