Good morning.
It’s 55F and hazy outside. It’ll be sunny again, with a daytime high of 88F. It was hazy all day, and I could often smell the woodsmoke. Of course, it’s not as bad on our side as over in Central and Eastern Washington. It’ll be hot all week, with a forecasted high of 96F on Thursday. Bleh.
Lily, yay for recognition on your book! That is great news!
Cupcakes, I’m keeping you and Mauser in my thoughts.
BooFae, you’re leaving us hanging on these profound changes?
52, I hope you get relief for your eyes.
JtC, that raven is awesome! I’m a wee bit jealous that Harry has a raven friend who hangs around. You have to be a special person for that to occur.
Nellie, I’m glad you got to spend some time with your son and the doggos. I hope you had a wonderful time.
Yesterday, I ran down to the nursery that is going out of business. It saddened me to see it so bare. I was hoping to score some good pots and a bird bath at a decent price, but all of the pots I really liked were gone. There were two that I liked, but they had been put away for someone else. There was also a very large potted Japanese maple that I loved, but it was also reserved for someone. So, I went away with nothing, and probably won’t be back.
Since I was in the valley anyway, I went over to the expensive nursery. I found a five-for-five-dollar deal, and some regularly priced plants. It’s pretty much the end of the season as far as buying things, so there wasn’t a wide variety of plants available. I was just looking to fill in some areas, so I got some violet colored and white zinnias, and two types of heliotrope. One has a dark purple bloom, and the other has a purple-and-white bloom. I looked at some beautiful hydrangeas, but I don’t have space for them. Most of the remaining space I have left in the yard is the dogs’ area, and they need the room.
It was definitely smoky and hazy all day.
After the nursery, I went to Costco and purchased artificial tears, some snacks for my husband, bed pillows, and a comforter. There were a few food items, too. I figured I’d wait until the kids arrive before I commit to any meat or other large grocery purchases. I am tentatively planning on grilling one night and making some tater salad.
As for today, I’ll dust and run the rollsuck, and transplant the stuff I purchased yesterday. The posies and lawn need some water, too. I’m not sure if the kids will be here today or tomorrow, but I’m not stressing. Everything is ready for them (except for dinners; we’ll work that out when they get here).
Alrighty, time for a third cup of coffee. I had a really restless night last night.
Please take care of yourselves.
